Building a Home in New Jersey (Open)

[Capt. Caliene Meredith]

(New Jersey Countryside, Approximately 78 miles from New Jersey Military Base, July 15th 2027, 20:49 EDT)

Caliene Meredith, Captain in the United States Army, and member of NEST stood looking at what she had managed to accomplish in the three weeks she had taken off as Vacation Time.

Her old Farm house now looked somewhat better and livable, the old barns were now piles of rubble which would be moved at a later date to make way for the Urban Warfare Range she was going to put on the property.

Gazing around the massive 145+ Acre Farm she had brought from the retailer as a good investment, she sighed, it was going to take more than her to get this done, but where she worked she was sure she could find some recruits willing to help out if it meant they got to stay here and enjoy the place after it was completed.

She smirked when she thought about which of the Autobot's on Base she could get to help with the Heavy Lifting, especially when it came down the the Munitions Storage Igloo's and the Urban Warfare Range, she was attempting to make it well over 150 ft tall at the rafters so that any of the taller 'bots could stand up and not have to stoop to get in and such.

Heading back in after checking her watch, she sat down and ate a cold supper as she watched the Sun set in the distance, the colors spilling through the windows of the house and giving the stark rooms a splash of color before the sun disappeared completely.

Finishing up she gathered up her debris and placed it into the trash bag she had and headed to the other ground floor room where her sleeping bag, pillow and pack were at, and changed for bed, slipping into her sleeping bag she dozed off quickly but kept a tight hold on her rifle next to her, being in the middle of the countryside it paid to be cautious, and Cali was definately cautious, especially after serving in foreign coutries that would shoot at ya first then ask questions if you were still alive.

She was fine until around five hours after getting to bed she heard a high pitched whistle and then a huge 'BANG!' like a bomb going off in the rear field behind the house. Grabbing her gun, jacket and flashlight she walked out barefoot across the grass to where she could now see smoke coming from.

Being extreamly cautious she moved closer and aimed her rifle at the large metal ovoid shape laying in the ground roughly 10 ft from her. As it moved, she cussed to herself mentally for not grabbing the Radio to call for back-up if this went pear-shaped, and kept a tighter grip on her gun awaiting the Cybertronian to reveal if it was friend or foe.

Notitia groaned as her sensors finally came back online from the frame jarring crash she had done after landing on this planet. Activating her transfomation protocols she shifted from her cometary form to her bi-pedal form and looked around, scanning the area she noticed she was in a large open area surrounded on each side by tall foliage that in some places were taller than herself.

Scanning the area again her sensors finaally picked up an organic signature just behind her, so turning slowly she looked at the organic and was surprised to see it holding a weapon in her direction after what seemed like a huge eternity, when in actuality it had been roughly 5 minutes of staring at each other, the Organic asked "Are you an Autobot? If so ah can get a hold of Prime for ya. Are you injured in any way? Please let meh know so that ah can call for Ratchet to come and help ya, since ah really dun wanna get yelled at by him for not asking ya."

Notitia looked at the organic in front of her and released a sigh through her vents, translating her speech patterns she decided to try and communicate with the organic.
"I am an Autobot." she said showing the organic her Autobot Insignia before continuing, "My name is Notitia and I am a Scout. If you could please contact The Prime and let him know that I am here, I wold be very greatful. As to whether Ratchet is required... It would be nice to have my communications up and running again, I think I knocked something loose when I landed. Also I would like to never have one of his wrenches thrown at me for not reporting anything that could cause problems."

Watching as the organic in front of her lowered her weapon at hearing that she was an Autobot and verifying it with the Insignia, she decided to get down to this organic's level and sat down to see what could be done about this situation.

Smiling up at the new arrival - Notitia she called herself - Caliene decided that waving her weapon was proboaly the last thing that was needed, so pointing her rifle down and the safety on, she too sat down and tried to figure out what to do next.

From what she could figure out, 1) Notitia needed an Alt. Mode; 2) She was required to contact NEST and let them know about Notitia's arrival; 3) All she required right now apart from the contact bit was back at the house. So standing up, Caliene gestured to the Autobot Femme and called out "Just follow me, most of what we're going to require is back at mah home the other side of these trees."

Catching the Femme's nod of acceptance, they started their way back towards the house, where an Alt. Mode could be found, and contact with NEST Base could commence. All in all it was going to be mid-morning before they were both done, 'so much for getting any sleep!' thought Caliene as they finally made it to the back of the house.

Once there she looked around for her Radio, Cell phone, put up her rifle after de-chambering the round in it, and grabbed a mug of coffee from the pot she kept warm on the stove top - she was going to need the strong caffeine that it had to keep her awake. Walking back outside, mug in one hand and her Radio, and Cell phone in her other, she noticed Notitia looking around the 'Junk Pile' that had come out of one of the old out-buildings on the south side of the property.

Caliene had found a few nice things there, such as a couple old cars from the 60's-70's era, as well as an old farm table that she had moved by her self into the kitchen area and scrubbed until it was clean and able to be ate from. She really did hope that Notitia found an Alt. Mode she liked, even if it was an older model than most would like. All she knew was that the older 'muscle' cars came from the 60's-70's era and were fast, maybe it would be fine after all.

Normally he would be training or bothering the other autobots but Sideswipe had grown restless and headed out for a patrol while racing around to blow off some energy. So far it was doing the trick and the blades master was feeling refreshed, enjoying the feeling of the wind going past his frame, and the freedom of the open road. "Now this is living!"He chuckled and raced faster then he probably should have though he slowed as a signal caught his attention, a cybertronian had just made planet fall.

But why did it seem so familiar? Changing course Sideswipe sped towards the location he caught before and ignored the speed limits and dodging traffic while he headed that way, curious to who it was. Coming closer to the farm Sideswipe scanned the place briefly recognizing one organic on what looked like a farm it was captan Caliene from NEST and the US army though the other was indeed cybertronian but who? Too curious to be cautious Sideswipe transformed and skated onto the property heading towards the two, "Yo Cali mind if I drop in? Got a bit curious when I detected the signal of your new friend here." He called and skidded to a halt beside them and looked at Notitia.

Again this cybertronian seemed vaguely familiar and he titled his head,"What's your name friend? Your an Autobot but you also seem familiar." He asked curiously.

Caliene heard the crunch of the driveway behind her and turned to see one of her favorite Autobots, one who enjoyed his blades as much as she did hers and her rifle. Grinning up at the familiar face she responded, "You sure know how to make an entrance dun ya 'Sides, and as to you bein' all curious... Well I just met the Femme and she was trying to find an Alt. Mode in the Vehicle pile out back, but all I gots here are Muscle Cars from the 1960's and 1970's, even if some are rather fast once redone."

Turning to face where Notitia was now standing and staring at both her and Sideswipe with a look of either confusion, shock or both on her faceplates, Caliene decided to go on over and help her out some.

Notitia was carefully looking through the 'Junk Pile' as Caliene had put it for an Alt. Mode that would suit her tastes when she heard, "Yo Cali mind if I drop in? Got a bit curious when I detected the signal of your new friend here." a deep voice called out and the Mech - she was sure it was a Mech - skidded to a halt beside them and looked at Notitia.

Again this cybertronian seemed vaguely familiar and she looked at him as he titled his head and asked curiously,"What's your name friend? Your an Autobot but you also seem familiar."

She had a look of confusion on her faceplates she was sure but blinked her optics a couple of times once she heard Caliene talk to the Mech. "You sure know how to make an entrance dun ya 'Sides, and as to you bein' all curious... Well I just met the Femme and she was trying to find an Alt. Mode in the Vehicle pile out back, but all I gots here are Muscle Cars from the 1960's and 1970's, even if some are rather fast once redone."

Finally realizing who it was stood infront of her she squealed in delight and all but ran and glomped the poor Mech before spouting out, "Ohmygoshyou'rehereyou'rereallyhere! Where'sSunny?Whatabouttherestofthegroup? IthoughtyouhadallbeenofflinedwhenIcouldn'tCommyouguys!" came her response, one that would have done Bluestreak proud no doubt had he been there to hear it.

Finally calming down enough she let go of Sideswipe and stood looking at him with a huge smile on her face before saying, "I guess ya don't recognise me with out mah colors huh? It's me... Lil' Miss Speedy Information, the one who hung around you guys growing up, Notitia!! I'm just glad I found someone I know well... other than Ratchet, 'specially since my internal long distance comm's are down." causing her to shudder slightly at the thought's about what a certain Medic might do to her once he found out she was here without a working comm. system.

Turning back to the pile of old cars she looked over her shoulder at Sideswipe and asked, "Would ya like to help me find an Alt. Mode out of all these... It's going to take me a while to find one I like, and you know me... the faster the better." before she started to shift through the frames again careful of where her Human friend was standing.

"Ah I see well maybe I...oof!" Sideswipe cut off mid sentence as Notitia suddenly glomped^ him out of the blue making him look at her with confusion for a moment. She sounded like Bluestreak just then and how did she know about Sunstreaker? He hadn't seen his egotistical brother for years. Though when she finally got off and had a big smile on her face Sideswiped was still looking confused when she explained who she was in the beginning then her name made that confusion disappear real quick."Notitia?! Primus it's been a long time! But yea sure I'll give you a hand." He said coming to the junk pile.

He hadn't seen Notitia since their training back on Cybertron before she went away, what for though was still a mystery to him. "Heh though your right it's good you didn't run into the doc, still throwing wrenches but luckily not always at me for once and to answer your question I haven't seen Sunny since I left Cybertron to pursue my own training and joined the Autobots we were together but got separates so no clue where he is." Briefly sadness showed but Sideswipe pushed it aside and moved some cars aside while being careful of Caliene.

"Hey Notitia how about this camero? It looks about a seventies model but these things are fast." Sideswipe suggested coming across one and moving aside so they could see. Though personally Sideswipe preferred the one he had for now but had to admit a few older models were pretty cool and fast.

Smiling at Sideswipe she nodded her head and replied, "Sorry to hear about you and Sunny not being here together, although I'm sure the rest would be happy with the lack of Pranks pulled although... we could change that if ya feel up to it later on after I'm all settled in here." she added with a smirk and a glint to her optics.

Notitia walked over and smiled as she saw the old Camaro, scanning it it registered as a 1970's Camaro to her systems with a V8 427cu in Engine putting out a rather impressive 430 bhp at 5,200 rpm; 450lb. ft. torque at 4,400 rpm; a compression ratio of 12.0:1 and had a Halley four barrel carburator, more than enough for what she required with just a few Cybertronian tweaks to make her the fastest Femme on four wheels.

She let her Trans-scan systems boot up and as soon as she had done so, her root form twisted and changed to the of the Camaro Alt. Mode before she transformed back up into her bi-pedal mode. Looking at her choice of color she smiled, Blue really did look good on her and if the way Caliene was looking at her she was pleased too, probably about the color and the model of car she had chosen.

Being the sort of Femme she was, she required a bit of an appraisal so she asked Sideswipe and Caliene what they thought of her. "Sooo, what do I look like? Is it good or should I choose something else?" she asked just with a little bit of uncertainty in her voice, mainly because this was the first time she had been anything other than her Cybertronian vehicle mode before.

Caliene took one look at Notitia's new Alt. form ad literally felt her jaw drop, there stood a 1970 Camaro with a 'Custom Rainbow Blue' paint job that was often seen on the 1969 Street Racing Corvette's... and was that a small hint of a pin stripe on the rear fender?

Giving Notitia a variable Wolf-whistle of appreciation she walked around the Femme as she took in all the finer details, she had door wings on her back and she was just slightly shorter than Sideswipe but not by more than a couple of feet.

Finally getting her voice to work she told Notitia exactally what she felt, "Well Notitia, if no one else wants ya I'll take ya as mah Guardian any time, you have chosen one sweeet ride girl, and the paint job - is a classic, I mean I've only seen it once in person on an old 1969 Corvette at a car show, and then again on a PS2 Game know as Corvette Racing: 50th Anniversary Edition, that I used to play with mah brothers... we had a lot of car racing games for our system and we were all good at them... Ahh, the memories of a fun youth!" she sighed as she went and sat down on the hood of the old car that had been scanned, and if nothing else, Caliene was going to end up rebuilding this old car to make it as sleek and shiney as Notitia made it to look like on her own frame, just maybe change the color to something else like a two-tone copper color.... yeah that would do just fine to show off with.

"Perhaps, we'll see what we can pull."Sideswipe said with a playful glint in his optics and goofy grin on his face. Though he watched his old friend as she scanned the car and became a copy of the camero, only much sleeker and newer looking. Though as Notitia transformed his jaw dropped a bit as he looked at her and like Caliene he skated around her for a moment, impressed by her appearance."Notitia you look great! Or a better word hot!" He said with a big smile.

He had to admit blue and with hints of pin stripes worked for her, least in Sideswipe's mind it did. Though he smiled again and whistled a bit,"Sleek,fast, and hot...definitely you and I'd say blue is definitely your color. I mean speaking as friend." He said, adding the last part just in case. Yes Sideswipe liked Notitia but he could never find himself liking her beyond a friend, he was just being honest of what he thought.

Caliene smirked after hearing Sideswipe call Notitia 'hot', there may have been chemistry between them, but whether it was as good friends or as a romantic involvment she would probably never know.

As for the remark about 'Pranks' she shuddered... that way led to problems with the rest of the NEST Teams, Prime and Lennox if they ever found out who the culprits were for those Pranks that were more than likely to be pulled sometime in the future.

Deciding that it was time for all involoved here to do something, Cali turned her attention to Sideswipe and Notitia andshe caught their attention by clearing her throat. "Uh guys, as much as I enjoy the thought of Pranks being pulled to liven up the Base.... I really need help getting this place ship-shape and ready for the Squads that will be frequenting the place for Relaxation and Training. I want ta get the Urban Warfare Range finished soon, especially with the size I wanna build it to be so that you guys can still be in your bi-pedal forms whilst the scenarios are worked through." she said as she stood facing them.

This was heer property, yes! But she was willing to let NEST and the Autobots use what extra Acreage she had, she had plenty plenty of room for them to be here, and it was far enogh away from any built-up areas that they wouldn't be spotted by those not in the know. Hell, she was thinking of turning the field Notitia had crashed in, into a Grass Landing Strip for the flying Autobots she had heard about, as well as putting in a Heli-pad for those who decided not to drive out, troop-wise. She had to get on with the rebuild.

Crouching down to Caliene's level, Notitia decided to tell her what she thought of the plan, "I would just like to say that this is most definately the best plan I have heard in orns; a place where we can all Relax or Train if we wish to, with friends and Team members, pit I don't even think ol' Prowler will have much of a problem with this set-up, and I am sure that Sides and myself being here would most definately help get things moving. I honestly don't mind the heavy lifting, and I'm sure that Sides would sooo make the most of not being on Base right about now." she said before standing back up and looking towards one of her dearest Mech friends from her youth.

Thinking back now as she waited for a response from either Caliene or Sideswipe, Notitia thought back to what it would have been like with her siblings here had they not perished in the war on Cybertron when she was younger.

"Love that plan, in more then one."Sideswipe said with a nod but meant more behind it then just relaxing and training. He needed time from base after being cooped up so long, and well he was often training none stop which often had him sleeping for hours at a time. Which did irritate the others sometimes but he hated sitting still or doing nothing so training was a good pass time, to him at least. "Besides a day or two away from training might do me some good. Train most of the time until Ironhide has to even force me to go rest." He admitted.

Looking at the area Sideswipe had to agree this was a great area for the extra room. Anyone would be happy to come and go from here he guessed and it'd be a good break form base. "So where do we start?" he asked with a grin.

Notitia smirked as Sideswipe asked, "So where do we start?" and she decided to take the initiative and walked over to where a large pile of rubble was, she assumed that this had once been a large building of some kind to house animals if the smell still on the chunks of what she found out was Concrete as she looked up the composition of the rubble on the Internet.

Picking up a much larger piece than any human could possibly hope to pick up by themselves or with help, she turned and asked Caliene, "So where do you want us to place all of this once we move it? Because I figure the quicker we get started the faster we finish and can start on the buildings that you want to place up for the fantastic idea you have for this place."

Caliene was surprised when Notitia turned and walked on over to a rather large pile of rubble that had once been the Cattle shed to the old Milking parlor, then sniggered when the Femme turned and said, "So where do you want us to place all of this once we move it? Because I figure the quicker we get started the faster we finish and can start on the buildings that you want to place up for the fantastic idea you have for this place."

Smiling even wider now she looked at Sideswipe shrugged a little and then directed Notitia to where the heavy duty refuse Skip was located for just this type of thing - the moving of Concrete and rebar along with other bits of demolition.

"Just follow me and I'll show you two where to place this stuff." she said as she pointed over her shoulder at the pile of debris behind Notitia. Walking to where the Heli-pad was going to be at some point she showed them the skip and explained what it was for. "Well, this here is what we humans call a refuse skip, and it is used mainly at construction sites all over the world, and I got lucky that I know a few folks that were willing to let meh borrow theirs to get this place up to what standards I have for a place to live, work and if neccesary 'play', but yeah, this is where all the concrete and other building debris will be placed before we can even think about rebuilding what I have planned to build here.

She sighed before heading into the house calling back, "I'll be right back, just gotta change into mah work coveralls, and I'll be right back!" Getting to the room she had slept in she grabbed her coveralls, pack with water and MRE's for the day and her med kit, strapped on her Glock to her ankle in it's holster and pulled the leg down over it on her coveralls before heading back out to Notitia and Sideswipe, it was going to be a rather looong day ahead of them that was for sure.
