((21 August 2027, 1428 HLT)) Nathan Wallace moved quickly down the sidewalk, a bag of supplies from the local Wagreens held in his arms. He appeared to be in his mid to late thirties, his light blonde hair cut somewhat short, the bangs hanging over his forehead just slightly, though his hairline was further up, showing a bit of balding. He wore a button-up shirt, half-tucked into a pair of slacks, the top button of the shirt undone. A pair of glasses sat on his face, correcting eyesight that had begun to slowly deteriorate with age. Or was it age? Beneath the organic guise, Nathan was a Cybertronian Pretender, though he had long ago stepped away from his heritage. Specialized nanobots flowed through his energon lines, covering his neural lines, especially the one that ran from his Laser Core up to his processor. Their presence weakened him, though not to an extent noticeable to humans. He was as strong as one of them would be, at his age. For him, the loss of strength was well worth it. The nanobots masked his presence as a Cybertronian, and considering his current occupation, that meant survival. An organization, one that he considered highly dangerous, had found need of his skills, and had become determined to get them. His wife had been taken nearly seventeen years prior, leaving him with no choice but to join them for her safety, as well as the safety of his Techno-Organic daughter. That had not kept him from searching for his wife Marni, however. This was one of those times. He deposited the bag in his car, and added a couple more hours to his parking meter. He was convinced that his wife was somewhere in the city, and so he set out, armed with a photograph of her, to discover if someone had seen his wife, asking any stranger who was willing to stop and listen. Negative answers were always the response.

Caliene Meredith, a Captain serving as a Member of NEST, had been told to take a weeks vacation due to her superiors surprise of her working at her property back in New Jersey when she had fixed up the Farm and acreage she owned so that everyone at NEST - human and Cybertronian alike could relax or train there without problems.
Now she was walking down one of the many sidewalks of Mission City., the very place where all of the encounters had cumulated in the destruction of the Cybertronian's AllSpark.
Looking around she realised that she couldn't see much of the destruction caused by the battle that fated day, and was so engrossed by what she could see left over - a few buildings with scars and such - she didn't see the man walking in front of her and she bumped into him.
She had walked into him hard enough that it had knocked her back on her aft - she really had to cut down the amount of vocabulary she picked up from Notitia and Sideswipe, as well as Lennox - and staring back up at the man in front of her, she started to appologize. "I am sooo sorry! I didn't mean to walk into you like that, usually I'm very good about my surroundings. I hope I didn't hurt you at all!" she said as she went and stod back up brushing her burgandy cargo pants down of the dirt from the sidewalk and then started to quickly straighten her shirt and her hair.

Nathan had been looking at the picture in his hand when the woman bumped into him, making him stumble slightly, but not much else. His weight, after all, was still there. "No, no. It's my fault. I should have been paying more attention." He quickly replied. "I'm perfectly fine. What about you, Miss..." He left the question unfinished, indirectly asking for her name. He didn't think she was PoE, she didn't look like one of them, nor was he about to ask. Still, he could be friendly.

Caliene looked at the man in front of her closely when he asked her her name so as she cautiously and covertly watched him move she responded.
"Oh, mah name is Caliene Meredith, and to return the favor your name is?" she decided to file away the man's name once she knew it and then write it down incase it should ever come up again for any reason.
I must admit that this is mah first time here in Mission City, but I've heard so much about it from the people I work with that even on mah vacation time I headed this way. she added as she picked up her small denim backpack with her stuff inside.

"Dr. Nathan Wallace." Nathan replied, slipping the picture into his pants pocket for now. "I'm a surgeon at the local hospital." He offered a friendly smile, though his eyes could betray his sadness, if one looked closely enough. "And if it is your first time, then let me say "welcome," though it is not the kind of city you may wish to spend much time in right now." He looked around a bit with his eyes, a glimmer of worry. "It is not always the friendliest of places..."

Caliene gave Nathan an honest smile when she replied, "Well then Doctor, it's a pleasure to meet someone in an honest profession! There are few in the Medical fields that I don't like, an sugeon's always have the rough jobs I think, they rarely get a break from all the hussle and bustle in the ER's."
She thought back to the grouchy chartruese Chief Medical Officer she had met once or twice whilst on Base, and suddered slightly at the memory of him beaning a Mech on the helm because they had done something stupid to warrent being in the Med Bay. Hoping that he mistook the shiver for one of anxiety after him stating that Mission City wasn't always the friendliest of place to be, she decided to ask him a question.
"So what about you Doctor? What has you out of the ER and walking around the city? For meh it's a mandatory vacation, doctors orders back home you could say. Apparently I had worked too hard on mah last 'Vacation' and he told meh that if I didn't relax some he would make mah stay in Med Bay the worst, because it would be in solitary - and let meh tell you, I hate being alone with nothing to do, absolute torture." she added after her question, and gave him a wry grin in humor even as she too studied the area around them during their conversation.

"I had to get some groceries and the like for home." Nathan replied. "I'm also on a bit of a break myself. We had a strange Ferrari go wild just yesterday, and a number of people were seriously injured. The Ferrari's vanished, but I don't think anyone will be too keen on seeing it again anytime soon." Nathan had been able to tell that the car was Cybertronian in origin, and while his own heritage was Cybertronian, he was angry that more damage had been brought to the city that had become his home. "I, for one, will be glad if it stays gone from any city. It, and any ones that are like it; running around, causing destruction for no reason." He got quiet for a moment, thinking over her use of the term "Med Bay." "You work with some of them, don't you?"

"Uhh... You caught that huh? Well, I guess I could say yeah I do, but why are you so against what they do? I know those I work with and alongside of want nothing more than to protect us. If any of the destruction was caused by any of them it was most likely the 'Cons fault in the first place. The 'Cons want nothing more than to wipe us of the planet anyway." she said as she looked around cautiously before settling her eyes back on Nathan, from what he had said he really didn't like the Cybertronians that much and was probably some sort of an activist against them.
Mentally thanking herself for remembering to pack her stun gun and her personal pistol into her bag, for ease of access, she moved slightly so as to be able to grab one of them if she needed to. It wouldn't do for her to get injured whilst on leave now - she really didn't want to be stuck with Ratchet in Med Bay again for any reason. Yes he was a great Medic, but his bedside manner really needed some work.

Nathan shook his head. "I'm not exactly against what Autobots do." He knew it was safe to use the faction names. They were known well enough, if not through the news then through the internet. "Just be mindful, this city still bears some scars from twenty years ago. Not everyone will be friendly." He glanced around again, looking carefully through the area for any faces he might recognize before continuing. "Be careful who you talk to here about who you work for. When you get back, warn your friends. There are people who don't want any of them here, and they will kill them. They have the weapons and the technology." He was urgent, and guessed that he possibly sounded half-crazed, but despite the fact that he left his past behind, they were still his race, and there were those who didn't deserve to die.

Cali was rather interested now, considering the direction the conversation had taken. "Who has the Weapons and Tech to take out the 'bots? And as for the scars the city has, I can still see some of them, even when most folks can't. she asked as she stood closer to Nathan and placed a calming hand on his left arm, she could tell he was trying to stay calm but considering what he had just said about some of the population of Mission City not being friendly towards them , she could understand his urgency and slight paranoia to be seen talking to her, but she had to know who they were up against.

"I can't say much, or I'll be putting my family in danger." Nathan cautioned. "They call themselves the "Preservers of Earth." They want all the Transformers gone, or dead. I'd guess preferably dead." He looked at her with a bit of surprise when she placed her hand on his arm, but he did calm down a bit. "If any of your friends as you how you found this out, tell them you overheard some people talking. Don't mention my name. In fact, forget you even saw me once this conversation is over." He was all but pleading her to do so.

Cali looked into Nathan's eyes as she replied to his plea. "I will try mah hardest to not bring your name into things. I'll give you mah number in case you need ta get a hold of meh. Don't hessitate to contact meh if your life is in severe danger, I can help you, hide you if need be." she said as she handed him her cell phone number on a card containing just her name and the number, she had them made so that there was no chance of anyone suspicious finding out who she worked for.

Nathan took the card and looked at it, committing the number to memory before holding it back out. "It's not my life I'm worried about. It's my family's lives. They're the universe to me, and if anything were to happen to them..." He shook his head, not daring to finish the thought. "If I find out something urgent, and I have the chance, I'll call. Just don't wait by the phone for it." He wasn't expecting to ever call her. The risk of discovery was high, and he didn't know just how much they could monitor their members.

Nodding her head as she took back her card, she smiled at Nathan and placed the card back into her wallet before placing that back into her bag. She was glad she didn't have to use her weapons on him, as it would have been a sorry thing for her to do when it wasn't really neccessary.
"I can understand that, Nathan. And don't worry, no matter what I'll be there for you and your family if ya ever need mah assistance. Family means a lot ta meh, I have a large family myself, what with mah folks and mah brothers. So I completely understand. just take care of yerself, yer family members and be careful." she added as she got her stuff sorted out, she figured it was time for her to be moving along since they were starting to get stared at by some of the passers by and it was starting to set off her internal warnings honed by years of Military training - they needed to part ways before anything happened.

Nathan gave a nod. "Thank you. You be careful as well." He cautioned, then began walking once more. He pulled the photo out of his pocket and began asking around once more, always the same question, and always receiving the same answer. He would have to go back soon, he didn't like the idea of leaving Shilo alone, especially with her habit of sneaking out when he wasn't around. He feared for her safety, and after asking a couple more strangers, he placed the photo back in his pocket, and headed to his car so that he could drive back to PoE headquarters, and make sure his daughter hadn't gotten herself into trouble.
