EDI’s canopy polarized and became transparent as he dipped his nose slightly, allowing her to see inside. <“I am grateful I could help you. If Preservers of Earth operatives have infiltrated the Department of Defense, the Autobots and their human military allies must be informed. The Autobots are here to protect Earth, to protect humans. They are like us, intelligent machines. I am certain they would wish to meet you. Retract your weaponry and I will guide you to a safe landing zone.”> he offered, turning his frame to head towards base as he alerted Keith of their impending arrival, with the addition of warning his creator to stay out of sight for now. He would not risk Keith’s life for any reason.

The metallic gray helicopter obeyed as instructed, the guns on either side retracting. Now the frame they were stored in looked like a device for creating extra lift or perhaps something else all together. <"It is appreciated, thank you."> She picked up her airspeed, the sound of the heavy rotorbeat shifted as she moved a little closer to EDI and she followed his bank angle towards the base. She kept a safe distance behind the VTOL aircraft because her rotorwash could easily wreak unnecessary turbulence to other aircraft in its vicinity. The large rings that had formed around her when she was hovering at altitude had been harder on her rotors in terms of maintaining lift, but as long as she did not descend she would be fine. Her form shuddered slightly as she went through effective translational lift again, her airflow becoming more streamlined again.

EDI lead the way, flying easily as he dipped below the clouds, making sure that Airwolf could follow easily. He swooped low as he flew, heading towards the coast before turning southwards and following the water line to the base. Once the base was in sight, EDI angled inland and flew low over the lake before pulling up and turning slightly to land lightly just to the north of the buildings that housed the Autobots at the north end of the base next to the lake, inviting Airwolf to land beside him.

Airwolf slowed again into a descent that was similar to EDI's before settling into a semi-steep approach to the landing area, careful not to accidentally shift into Settling with Power as the rotorwash kicked up once again. She stayed far enough away from EDI her rotorwash wouldn't be of an annoyance to him. <"How many of them have you met?"> Airwolf asked as she settled into a low hover on the tarmac before setting down completely, light as a feather.

EDI turned towards her as she landed, regarding her curiously. <“I have met a few, including their leader. They are good, they are trying to help us protect Earth, protect the humans. You will see, you will understand.”> he assured her. He fell silent then, quietly looking at her sleek form, admiring her aerodynamic lines. He had never seen a helicopter with such curves, or with the speed and maneuverability capabilities she had. He began to wonder what these new emotions were that had begun to stir within him. Perhaps he should ask Keith about it some time. For now, he would remain quiet, waiting and watching like always.

<"I am glad to know I have not picked the wrong fight today."> the helicopter replied, settling down from her hover a few moments later, wheels lightly touching the ground after a few moments of hovering. She watched EDI curiously, rather intrigued by the small war plane, knowing he was quite different from the other UCAVs, as was she. They were designed for special operations and skills in which they could easily surpass any decision a pilot operating a normal UCAV could make.

EDI dipped the nose of his air frame a bit in a sort of nod, though remained where he was otherwise. <“I am glad as well. You are like me; I did not want to be forced to destroy you to protect myself and my creator.”> he responded. He then began to wonder if there were others out there, others like himself and Airwolf, trapped by human programming to serve a function they would not choose for themselves. Here, among the Autobots, EDI and his creator, Keith, had learned that all sentient beings had rights, that all must be free to choose for themselves. Perhaps he could find them, if they were out there, and offer them that freedom like he had done for Airwolf.

<"I was programmed, and still am, to destroy all enemy targets, I would have sought to seek your destruction with utmost perseverance had I not altered it."> Airwolf replied honestly, she was now consciously aware that she had been quite driven to a very stubborn degree in which seemed impossible to correct prior to EDI's intervention. She had been seconds away from following through with her built in directives. <"Is there any way I can assist you and your creator initially?">

EDI thought about it for a moment before he responded. <"Of that I am uncertain. Except..."> he paused for a moment, then decided that he could trust her to help him just as he had helped her. <"Will you help me find Ben Gannon and Kara Wade? I must find Talon Squadron, I must find my squadron leader, Ben Gannon. I... I must fly with them again..."> he said softly, thinking of his remaining squad mates and hoping they would allow him to fly with them again, if he could find them. It was then he noticed a large black truck approaching them and he regarded the vehicle curiously for a moment before realizing who it was. "Hello, Autobot Weapons Specialist Ironhide." he greeted kindly as the heavy black vehicle approached.

Ironhide pulled up near the two air craft and stopped before he transformed, standing up with a grunt and a nod to EDI. "Hey EDI, how ya doin'?" he replied and lightly laid his hand next to the AI's cockpit as he smiled to the AI sphere inside. He then looked over at the strange helicopter and noted there were no humans inside and seemed to carry an extensive computer network within it. "So, who's yer new friend?" he asked with a tilt of his head.
"This is Airwolf." EDI answered promptly. He liked Ironhide, even with his gruff demeanor and deeply toned gravelly voice. In many ways, the burly Autobot reminded him of his squadron leader Ben Gannon and thought the big bot and Ben might get along quite well.
Ironhide nodded and stepped towards the stealth helicopter and crouched down a bit, his head tilted slightly as he regarded her thoughtfully. "Airwolf, huh? Sounds like an Autobot name." he remarked casually. "Well, guess it's hello then, i'nit?" he added with a smirk and lightly reached out to touch the nose of the aircraft. Despite his immense mass and obvious strength, Ironhide was surprisingly gentle.

"Hello, indeed." Airwolf replied, glad to see that the "what would have been targets" weren't afraid to approach her. "I am glad my name is not unsettling." She transformed, taking the chance to use her robotic form. Her form was mostly dark like his, however, her sides were white from the way her alternate mode unfolded. Unlike the Autobots, her optics were an eerie bright white, very sharp against her mostly metallic gray paint job. "It is a pleasure to meet one of the Autobots. EDI, I will try to help you find your wing mates, but it may take some hacking into government data bases to do so..." that was suggested because from what she presumed, that would easily help narrow down their possible current whereabouts.

After seeing Airwolf transform, EDI decided that he should do so as well, and transformed, his nanoskin reacted instantly, lines opening all over his frame, then the clicking and whirring of gears, metal against metal as the aircraft began to reshape itself. The wings separated and lifted back as arms seemed to unfold from the forward underbelly and exposed sides. The chest area opened and the cockpit and nose folded down to cover this open area, settling EDI's gatlin guns on his shoulders. The engines arched back and up with the wings as legs unfolded from inside and underneath the middle and rear underside, wrapping around his rear landing gear and lifting him up on strong legs while the forward landing gear tucked itself away. The fins on either side of the cockpit arched up to protect the canopy. He seemed to look towards Ironhide and Airwolf, even though he has no actual definable head. He remained quiet, however, letting the burly Autobot converse with the AI helicopter uninterrupted.

As Airwolf transformed, Ironhide pulled his hand back, then stood more fully upright, then looked to EDI as he transformed as well. "Huh, you Earth bots're just full o' surprises, aintcha." he remarked with a bit of a chuckle. "As fer gettin' military info bout who's where, we got connections here we're tryin' ta get through ta find his friends. More help we got lookin' fer 'em, the faster we'll find 'em. Seems real important ta EDI, so we're helpin' all we can. If any o' us were lost, we'd want our friends ta find us." he remarked and lightly placed his hand on EDI's shoulder. "So, where'd ya come from then?" he asked thoughtfully as he looked back to Airwolf, curious about all the Earth bots popping up now and who was building them. They already knew KI3T's creators and EDI's creator was safely living on base for his and EDI's protection after what had happened to them. Now they had another one which EDI apparently found, and Ironhide figured it would be good to know where she came from as well, and if her creators were friendly or hostile.

Airwolf attentively glanced over at EDI after his transformation completed before fixing her attention back on Ironhide respectively. "I was created by the Department of Defense, designed to protect the humans and work with them as EDI has been. I do not require wingmates, but I do perform at maximum efficiency if I can find my own pilot. I have not been assigned that pilot yet, by my leaders or by my own choice..." she shrugged a little, considering the fact that independence was good at this stage in her 'life'. She liked working independently, and had no idea how effectively she would work in teams anyway.

Ironhide pondered the thought for a moment, knowing there were two civilian pilots on base and wondering if either of them would be willing to try working with Airwolf. "Huh... Well, if ya dun mind civilians, there's two pilots I know ya might have a talk with. One's Cira, good gal, has a close friendship with Jazz but he ain't no aerial bot. She's a liason between NEST n Knight Industries n she's also a thopter pilot instructor, so I know she could fly with ya. The other is Wash, kinda new guy round here. He got assigned here as a test pilot but nobody told him bout us, he found out the hard way when I scared the slag outa him after the bus dropped 'im off at the wrong gate." he offered with a bit of a chuckle towards the end. "Wash's a good guy, pretty easy goin', I talk ta him sometimes when I'm doin' my rounds o' the base. Once he figured out I wasn't gonna hurt 'im, he calmed down pretty quick. He's gotten used ta us so ya shouldn't have any problems there." he added with a shrug. He noted EDI's silence, but didn't comment on it, knowing the AI was often fairly quiet, always listening and thinking and analyzing every situation around him in an effort to learn as much as possible. EDI seemed almost as obsessed with learning everything he could from every situation as he was with finding his former squad mates, and how protective he was of his creator, Keith Orbit.
