Once the ground bridge opened, Landmine made his way in, favoring his uninjured side as he carefully placed weight on his injured one. "Don't worry, it's not as bad as it looks." He stated, a small grin on his face before he turned serious. "But seriously, it's still pretty bad. I didn't know humans had that kind of firepower... I think they might have been able to amp it up because of Megatron's frozen years."

"Download your explanation onto this while you go over the more important details." Red Alert stated, holding out a data pad for Landmine to take. "Are you sure this jet was of human origin, and not one of us who decided to look the part?" He wanted to give their allies the benefit of the doubt, but if there was no other option...

="Doing my best, Tinman."= Darkwind altered her flight path slightly, angling towards Texas. ="And just keep an eye out for us. What about...come out once a week, right around here? This is part of our usual flight path. I know you'll spot us long before we spot you. Open up the radio before you approach, though. Just to be safe. I'll let Big and Guns know the next time I talk to them."=

EDI rocked side to side in acknowledgment, though he went quiet, uncertain, and a little afraid. Something seemed... off to him, though he could not place what. He let the Talon get ahead of him, then he flew high, following quietly as his nanoskin shifted to match the sky and clouds around him, activating his radar dampeners. He wouldn't approach directly, but he wanted to see where Henry was going. If he could track his squad mates to their base, then he could approach on his own terms and track their movements as needed. He kept himself well out of view, but maintained tracking of Henry's Talon just to be sure. EDI had to know, one way or the other, he had to know.

Jazz winced seeing the damage Landmine had sustained and shook his head. "Slag man, you really got yourself tangled up in it, didn't ya? You look like you got hold of some bad ordinance or something." he remarked as he approached, glancing over at Red Alert for a moment, his expression showing he was worried, then turned back to Landmine. "What'd it say about why it attacked you, n where did it go?" he asked, worried it was going to come looking for the base. Seeing the damage that aircraft had done to Landmine and knowing how heavy his armor was compared to most Autobots, he knew many of the Autobots on base would not stand much chance against such heavy artillery if it came looking for a fight, particularly the more lightly armored 'Bots like himself and Red Alert. That was Jazz' biggest worry, not just for himself and the Autobots, but for their human allies as well, especially Cira. If a real fight came down on the base with this thing, Jazz knew that the humans were as good as dead and the Autobots would not be far behind them. That thought alone made him shudder involuntarily.

"It said something about 'Operation Earth Defense.'" Landmine replied, finding a spot on the ground to sit and rest while his systems continued to focus on the damage. "It was told that we were all here to enslave humanity, but it was really surprised when I mentioned that we were helping the humans rebuild what got destroyed. Jazz...it had a clear shot at me. It came down and literally hovered right in front of me, and I have no doubt that it could have put a missile through my front window. But, it hesitated instead, and then left. I think it's at least willing to talk..."

Red Alert shuddered with Jazz upon seeing the damage Landmine had sustained. He was thinking the same thing. Trying to move the topic in a slightly different direction to avoid a glitch fit, he spoke. "Did it say who it was working for, or mention anything that might hint as to who commanded it?" He did not need to have an attack now, especially with everything that was happening.

Darkwind fired up her engines, putting on a bit more speed. Her holoform remained active, just in case, and she altered her course. If EDI had decided to follow her, it wouldn't do her any good to lead him right to the Decepticons. She had no desire to make her Spark a treat for Megatron, if she could help it. Her flight path remained stable, unaware of the jet behind her. Tapping into the military network, she discovered an aircraft carrier in the Gulf of Mexico, and altered her course again so that she would be on an interception path with the ship.

EDI continued to follow the Talon, Henry's aircraft, remaining high and behind the stealth fighter and keeping himself in a position to remain undetected. As he followed, he realized that the jet was headed to a carrier, which struck EDI as strange since Henry mentioned a base, not a carrier, and that Ben and Kara had left the base for the day. So why was Henry going to a carrier out in the gulf? It simply did not make sense, but still he followed, and watched in silence, hoping to find some answers.

Jazz looked utterly stunned. "Primus..." he breathed, then inwardly thought, {"That thing was one shot from killing Landmine..."} He looked over at Red Alert as he spoke, knowing how hard he was fighting to keep from falling into a full blown panic glitch attack and it worried Jazz even more. He stepped closer to Red, just in case he needed him. He looked back to Landmine then, and added to Red Alert's question with one of his own. "What the slag did you say to make it stop?" He didn't voice the obvious, that Landmine was a Spark pulse from being off lined by this mysterious jet, he really didn't need that realization triggering Red Alert's glitch attacks right now and he hoped that the fact that this mysterious aircraft was willing to talk, to listen, to learn the truth and could be negotiated with would help Red Alert keep himself calm, at least until Red and Jazz were alone again, anyway. No one needed to see Red Alert fall to one of his panic attacks, especially now.

"I didn't catch anything really identifying for who was in charge. It used military terminology, which, from my understanding of this world, isn't too unusual. As for what I said..." He stopped for a moment, focusing on putting the final bit of info onto the data pad before handing it to Red Alert. "I contradicted what it had been told, and tried really hard to not piss it off."

"We need to inform Optimus of what is going on, as well as the others." Red Alert concluded. "If the humans have built something that is more than capable of destroying us, then we should get ready, in case the worst happens. Until then, maybe we could continue to convince it that we don't mean any harm to the humans, as well as see if we could discover who gave it its original orders..."

Halfway to the carrier, Darkwind altered course again. Her new target was a land base, tucked away in South America. Her course would let her catch a jetstream for a bit, which would conserve fuel. Once she got to the base, a couple of hours later, she'd circle around for a bit before finding a quiet runway to land on. She could only hope from there that EDI had not followed her, and so would not approach her.

EDI was thoroughly confused now as he watched Henry turn South-West towards South America. But at this point, EDI was beginning to run low on fuel, and pursuit was fast becoming a non-option. He was going to confront Henry and learn the truth, but not today, not yet. He scanned the military database and found what he needed - Camel Hump 3 was near enough he could reach it before he ran out of fuel. With that, he turned East, flying out over the gulf towards the Florida Keys, high above where the refueling dirigible circled endlessly. He slipped up behind it and accessed the code set he needed, then extended his fuel intake line and plugged in, refueling his tanks. While he was there, he scanned for the carrier he saw earlier, and finding it, hacked the database for the crew and pilot manifest. As he looked through the list, he found no mention of Ben, Kara, or Henry on board. A dead end. Frustrated, EDI hissed inwardly, and as soon as his tanks were full, he rocketed away, heading north along the Gulf coast, searching desperately for any base that might have information on his squad mates' whereabouts.

Jazz nodded in agreement at that, and with a glance to Red Alert, he made his next suggestion known. "Landmine, go see Ratchet about the damage n go get yourself some Energon. You need some time to recover from this. Red n I will go over the info n let Optimus know what's going on." he said, and stepped up next to Red Alert, hoping that they could figure out what to do next with this, and potentially how to stop it if the hostile air craft decided to come knocking on their door with missiles armed. It was rare when Jazz would pull rank over any of the others, but it seemed like the seriousness of the situation warranted such an action right now.
