((4 September 2027, 1945 HLT, back road heading to Washington D.C.)) A tan Cougar HE MRAP was driving down some back roads, making its way from out in Virginia back to Washington D.C., or the outskirts at least. As far as unusual vehicles on the roads went, this one was up there. At 19 tons with a top speed of 40 mph, it wasn't allowed on most freeways on its own. He'd been sure to check that. Landmine had gone out to do a little exploring, and was now heading back to the Autobot base. He did his best to stick to dirt roads, taking paved roads only when he knew they could handle the weight of his alt mode. It certainly made for interesting driving, especially with the looks that he got. Military vehicles on public roads tended to be uncommon enough. The larger ones apparently almost never went out. With all of the driving, he'd relaxed a bit, taking it easy and not going full speed all the time. Still, he kept his sensors peeled.

Nightstorm had been feeling a little cooped up in the Decepticon base, what with the fact he had been living seamlessly among the enemy it was easy to get a bit restless there, and had decided to go out for a drive, some fun and then a few dozen drinks. He had tried to keep his signal pretty cloaked but, the more high grade he took in, the less that cloaking held solid.
He reclined back with a heavy sigh, resting his back against a downed tree, the bottle of high grade in his hand as he turned his optics skyward "It's going too far. . ." he commented to himself as he closed his optics and took another drink from his high grade, two empty bottle already on the ground next to him and many more in a very large crate next to him. He knew what he had to do, he knew why he was doing it and he knew he likely wouldn't survive it, he had just hoped it wouldn't come so soon but this war, it was ripping apart this world now, this wasn't just about Cybertron anymore, this was about a whole new world, a new people who had never asked to get dragged into the battlefield and now, that battlefield was their home.
He lowered his head a bit and with a small shake downed the remaining high grade in that bottle, tossing the bottle aside and grabbing a fresh one from the crate. "I'm gonna miss these small little people." he commented, again, to himself as he took another drink. Right now, he was trying to get his self imposed mission off his mind but, even after a fling with a human woman in his back seat, the only evidence of which remained was a lace black bra still stuck to the back of his shoulder that he hadn't yet noticed, and now his third bottle of high grade, working on his forth, he couldn't get it off his mind.
With a very heavy sigh he knocked back some from that fourth bottle and leaned his head back once more, red optics just looking up at the sky above, watching the clouds go by as he tried to get those thoughts from his mind, just for the time being. His cloaking had totally slipped at this point, his signal easy to pick up on if one was to grow near enough.

The Decepticon signal popping up on his sensors snapped Landmine to full attention, making him transform in the middle of the road. Bringing his mace out, he began to carefully walk towards the signal, not completely sure what he was going to find there. He was certainly not expecting to find his old work and drinking buddy. "Nightstorm!" He called with a laugh, putting his weapon away. "It's been forever! What in the Pit have you been up to, aside from giving me an easy time with my work?"

Hearing that familiar old voice made Nightstorm jump, literally, jump before red optics shot right to Landmine "Landmine?" he asked, almost not believing his optics for a moment before it hit him and he stood, not exactly a totally stable stance but he was vertical at least "Landmine!" he repeated the name with a smile and a bit of a chuckle, walking up to his old friend, bottle of high grade still in his hand, and moving to try to jump up and hug his old friend's neck. "Man I can't tell you how good it is to see you! It's been way too fucking long." the smaller blue mech stated, obviously having picked up a good bit of human vocabulary.

Landmine laughed as Nightstorm jumped on him, wrapping both sets of arms around his smaller friend to both give him a hug as well as keep him steady. "It has been far too long." He replied, setting the mech down, though keeping a hand on his shoulder, just in case. "What're you doing out here, drinking high grade all by yourself? And..." He reached over to pluck the forgotten bra off Nightstorm's shoulder. "What is this?"

When Landmine picked the bra off the back of his shoulder, Nightstorm gave a bit of a chuckle "So that's where that went, Kalie was looking for that earlier" he said, shaking his head a bit "Well, at least it didn't end up stuck someplace worse like last time." he added, giving a small sigh, though he forced himself to keep smiling. Though when he thought about the answer to Landmine's question about what he was doing out here, the smile faded a bit and Nightstorm moved to walk back to that log, sitting by it once more. "I, well, I just needed some space. You know, being in the base isn't exactly my idea of a relaxing environment. Need to get some fresh air from time to time, if anything to get away from, well, them." he answered, reaching into the crate and grabbing a fresh bottle of high grade, holding it out to Landmine "But, well. . ." he paused, giving a heavy sigh and shaking his head a bit "We have a lot to catch up on, if you have the time." he finished the sentence with a totally new one before knocking back another huge swig from his bottle.

"I've got plenty of time for an old friend." Landmine replied with a grin, walking over to sit near Nightstorm, accepting the offered bottle. "And yeah, I can understand wanting to get some time away. I don't know how you do it. Primus, I was surprised when I came across your handy work for the first time. You have really been getting creative." Popping the bottle open, Landmine took a good, hearty swig from it, then grinning. "Helps keep me on my toes."

Nightstorm gave a light chuckle at that "There's always been the old disarm trick, I kept it in every one just in case you came across them." he said, giving a small smirk "So how's things on the right side of the war going for you?" Nightstorm asked before taking another, pretty huge, swig from his bottle, it was pretty obvious Nightstorm was drinking to get wasted, not for fun like normal, something he did when something was weighing heavy on his mind. Once that gulp was down he shook his head "Surprised because you never thought I'd become a Decepticon, huh?" he right out asked.

"I noticed." He replied with a grin. "Saved my aft at least a few times." A small shake of the head was given as he remembered a couple of those moments. "As for how it's been and about you becoming a Decepticon, well, it did surprise me the first time I came across one of your bombs. I was even more surprised to find the old fail-safe there. It made me guess that something was up." He fixed Nightstorm with a look. "That's what's on your processor, isn't it. You know you can come back with me. Optimus will welcome you, and so will the others, especially once they see how harmless you can be. Well, mostly harmless, you lady's mech."

Nightstorm gave a small nod "Yea, that's what's on my mind, but no, I won't go back with you. " he said, taking another swig of the high grade "I trust you Landmine, after all of this I think you're the only person I completely trust still. I'm not leaving the Decepticons until I blow them sky high, even if I end up taken out in the process. I don't expect to survive what I have planned for them." he admitted, leaning back against that log again and, again, red optics to the sky "It'll deal a crippling blow to them, give the Autobots a change to hit them when they're weakened. They already fucked up Cybertron, I can't let them fuck up this world to, so I'm going to make my move soon." he said, lifting his free hand and pointing a finger right at Landmine, optics glancing over at his old friend "Don't even think about trying to talk me out of it, I had made up my mind when I first joined them, that's the only reason I ever joined them. I've just been playing along enough to get in good, where I can do the most damage but, with this world being torn apart as well, I don't have time to keep waiting." he said, letting his hand drop and taking another swig.

Landmine's optics widened as Nightstorm told him what he was planning to do. While he would rather his friend remain safe an alive, he knew it was entirely Nightstorm's decision. "I don't like it, 'Storm, but I'm not about to stop you." A small, sad smile appeared on his faceplates. "At least promise me that you'll do your best to not die. Rebuilding Cybertron after the war just won't feel right without you."

"I'll try, but I know my chances aren't good." he said, looking over to Landmine "Listen, there's a lot of things I've learned about the Decepticons, and some of them shouldn't be there at all. I wanna pass on the information I got before this all goes down." Nightstorm said as be moved to sit upright again, taking another swig from his drink "There's a small mech, Wavelength there, he's pretty young, the last one born when Crystal City fell, I've talked with him a bit. Nice kid, wouldn't hurt a fly, has never hurt any of the Autobots, I actually know he's pulled some of them off of the battlefield so they didn't get damaged any farther. He can make himself invisible, pretty much, what Soundwave does with sound, this kid does with light. But he's very pacifistic. I'll be making sure he gets out of there before I do it." he said, pausing only to take a drink.
"That kid has a very close bond to Soundwave, he sees him like a father. Now, if a kid like that can be so close to someone, that person can't be all bad. I don't know all the details about Soundwave, hell, who does, but, well, there's gotta be more to him if he loves that boy so much." he explained, giving a small sigh and, yet again, another drink.
"Then there's Knockout. I don't know if you knew that little bike bot but he was rebuilt after he almost died and reprogrammed as a Decepticon. He doesn't remember who he was but I think it's still in there someplace. Even as a Decepticon he's not that bad and when he is faced with too much of a moral conflict, well, his processor force restarts. I've already had to catch him so he didn't bust up his helm a few times as it is. None of them know my reasons for being with the Decepticons but I'm going to try to get them out of there before I blow everything up. Also, Barricade, he seems to purposely avoid the base, I don't know why but something may be up with him as well. I just thought it may be useful information, not everyone in the 'Cons belong there." he filled Landmine in and, again, took a drink.
"I'll send you the exact coordinates to the base, I'm trusting you to keep all of this information safe until I've made my move. I want to set up a private com link with you, so you'll know when I do it." he said, giving another sigh and moving to place a hand on his old friend's arm as he made sure that he sent the base location to Landmine securely. Once he had done so, he looked at the high grade bottle and gauged the amount before downing all that remained in it, tossing that bottle aside and retrieving a fresh one, cracking it open "This war needs to end, and I have to avenge my parents, that's why I'm so set on this." Nightstorm said, giving a small smile.

Landmine nodded as he took in the information that Nightstorm was passing on to him, making sure to remember as much as he could. "I'll make sure Optimus knows about them." He replied. "Hell, I'm pretty sure I've heard about Wavelength already. Lil' bot helped keep Jazz stable until the others could bring him home. Never met him, though. Or Knockout." The base coordinates were tucked into the back of his processor. "I won't tell a Spark. You'd just better be ready for me to come get your aft and bring it home, one way or the other." With that said, he leaned back and killed his bottle in one last go. "Man, I miss those nights before the war..."

Nightstorm gave a small chuckle "Yea, that sounds like Wavelength, he would have made a great medic if he wasn't so damned squeamish." Nightstorm joked, the smile back on his face for the time being "If I don't make it, at least make sure Wavelength and Knockout know the truth. They are my friends, after all." he said, taking another drink.
Another chuckle came forth from the smaller blue mech "Which ones? When we're go out and gat shitfaced or when we'd start testing out each other's skills? Because I liked both." he said with a grin, letting himself relax just a bit now "Most of my nights now consist of making bombs or chasing tail, sometimes I manage to fit in a bit of both."

As was his usual habit, Soundwave was keeping very close tabs on everyone on both sides of the war, his singular gift that often made the others more than a little uncomfortable around him, not knowing what secrets he knew about them, let alone what he would do with those secrets, especially with as closely as he had Megatron's audio receptor. This conversation, however, had grown more interesting my the moment, and the mention of not only himself, but his precious adoptive son, and the one whom he felt drawn to yet couldn't bear to approach, drew his full and undivided attention onto Nightstorm and Landmine. All other things were set aside, though his systems continued monitoring and recording for later review.
So, Nightstorm wanted Wavelength and Knockout well away from the Decepticon base soon before he blew it to the depths of the Pit? Soundwave wanted them far away from the Decepticons as well, and he had carefully cultivated his own contingency plan that he was beginning to bring towards it's final stages. Perhaps he could use Nightstorm's intentions as part of that contingency. With his real self safely hidden in orbit among thousands of human built satellites, his signals deeply masked, no one would find him unless he wanted them to. No one but Wavelength, anyway; he had ensured that his son could find him anywhere, no matter how far apart they ended up, and no matter how long they were separated. So he was in no danger from anyone where he was. He just had to get his son and Knockout to safety, along with all of his precious symbiotes, not a difficult task at least, considering his link to them. He had a land borne lair well hidden in Canada which all his symbiotes, and Wavelength, knew about. With the precise coded signal, they all knew to head there immediately and wait for him.
As for the scout, Barricade was currently a prisoner at the Autobot base, with Ironhide standing watch, and then some as they seemed to be rekindling a very old relationship they once shared. But how to keep that one where he was without that slagging glitch AI that shared his chassis getting in the way, Soundwave had to wonder. Perhaps it was time to remove the Combat Control protocols, and the consciousness they had become, after all. Soundwave knew about Meta, and more than that, he knew precisely the coding that had created him, since Soundwave not only implanted it, he wrote it on Megatron's behest, complete with his own built in fail safe. If Barricade managed to get away from the Autobots, then Soundwave may have his chance to get his claws on Barricade one more time, most likely via his Cyber Drone. On that he would have to wait and see.
For now, he listened carefully to the conversation at hand to discern what additional information he could glean from these two, and if he should contact Nightstorm directly or simply manipulate and use him covertly like he had been with all of them for most of the war.
