"This planet and its species are full of...idiosyncrasies such as that. But I'll do what I can, I'm not done fighting yet." Without realizing it, Tex's left hand reached over to her right upper arm in remembrance of what was there as if it was a ghost pain from an old battle. Sure the experiment had been worth it, but she had sacrificed a lot of herself to get to that point. And then when she looked at Edgecrusher she had a perfect, clear cut idea of what she could have become if BWC had gotten away with even more developments.
The somewhat reflexive body language could have struck as odd to an observer when speaking in such a context if they were paying attention. If one studied the black armored soldier close enough as they spoke, their mannerisms would probably appear to be a little feminine as well. Harder to pick up when speaking with a male voice, but possible to notice nonetheless.
One thing was still a little unsettling to her even as she stood there: The government supported the POE but the POE had hired her...then again, all the others that had been part of the BWC project were fleeing and hiding or already captured. Thus, Tex had been very lucky in that respect as well. Jack had told her that she and the "Alpha" were more valuable to them than the others.

Being trained for special warfare and intended for espionage, Edgecrusher had to be good at reading people, and as such, he did indeed notice the gesture that Tex made with her arm. He recognized it as a sign that this acquaintance remembered something; likely nothing relevant but he still realized it was something she wasn't telling him. He didn't, though, catch on to the fact that the figure in front of him was female. Women were becoming increasingly more common in the armed forces, but they were still rarely assigned to special operations, and this person was clearly higher specialized than the average infantryman.
"Me neither," he answered, his voice level and completely void of emotion. "I will never stop fighting, until the day Securitron loses its grip on this country. The domestic betrayer is worse, even, than the foreign enemy..." In all of his work as a Navy SEAL, Edgecrusher had been intent on intruders from abroad, preventing them from taking freedom away from this country. Never had he seen the domination that was occurring from within; by America's own government, its own corporations, its own infrastructure... Something needed to be done, and he intended to do whatever it took.

"Well I wish you luck. Because you're going to need it." Tex replied backing up a little before moving around the vehicle Edgecrusher had acquired, firing at him with her pistol. She glanced back at him from the passenger's window briefly, almost wishing she didn't have to do it. It would be senseless to fight and test him, but because she was a target she could turn in to save her own hide, why the hell not? Turning her head away, she rendered herself invisible for any one that happened to be in the vicinity. It was just odd...both surprising and odd that she would find someone like herself, one that didn't originate from BWC's Freelancer project.
It just seemed like she wasn't allowed to make friends, at least, if she wanted to live, and also keep her armor somehow.

Edgecrusher saw the glint of gunmetal in the car's rear-view mirror as his acquaintance aimed their weapon, and instinctively he ducked, grabbing his 9mm handgun from his ankle holster at the same time. As the opponent's pistol fired, he opened the car door and slid out, rolling under the car as quickly as he could; intending for the sound of gunfire and the distraction of aiming and shooting to mask the sound and motion of the door opening as much as possible. There he lay perfectly still, watching the figure circle around the car until it... turned invisible. {"Can't there ever be a day that it's just regular Army infantry hunting me down, not the most recent corporate contractor's latest breed of super-soldier?"} he wondered. How many other corporations were involved in these experiments, interfacing human beings with computers and computerized weaponry? How long had corrupt businesses been siphoning the life and soul from humanity... destroying lives, performing these experiments, often without consent? It went on unnoticed because everyone was so focused on those enemies originating from overseas...
"Hey, look! That thing just turned itself invisible like the Predator!", an adolescent voice shouted from across the parking lot, snapping Edgecrusher out of his thoughts. Two young men, likely students from the Institute, were recording his and Tex's movements on a smart phone. Edgecrusher shook his head at the consumerism. "Oh, yeah, this is going on my Facebook!" said the other adolescent. Edgecrusher, for one, did not approve of that idea. {"In the deepest figments of your imagination..."} the cyborg thought. The student raised the smart phone to get a better angle, raising it above his shoulder, turning slightly... And as soon as his head and body were out of the way, Edgecrusher quickly aimed his handgun and shot the phone, which was now level with the empty space above the adolescent's shoulder and next to his head. "Hey, what the hell!", the boy shouted angrily as his phone shattered in his hand.
But Edgecrusher didn't pay attention; he crawled out from under the car and under the next one, his cybernetic enhancement allowing him to move much faster in the prone position than a human soldier could... Then again, from that car under the next one, hoping to make it all the way out of the parking lot inconspicuously by crawling under the row of parked cars.

After turning invisible, Tex had turned towards the sound of the person trying to get them live on their smart phone. She eyed towards the door with which Edgecrusher had hid behind before moving to the next, finding herself thankful for that. Part of her really didn't want to fight him still - but she had to make the most of her opportunities, didn't she? There was still money to be made as a Freelancer, and though she wasn't taking many orders at the moment from the POE, it was still worth targeting him.
Instead of chasing immediately, Tex yanked off the car door Edgecrusher had hid behind and used her brute strength aided by the suit and literally chucked it at the car as her visor tracked the energy signature emitted. "Don't take this personally, I was starting to like you!" she called out, not caring if she was giving away her position right at that moment -- because after chucking the door, she immediately moved off to the left, moving ahead to vault over another car and intercept the cyborg from the front or front/side up ahead depending on the rate at which he kept moving.
Tex hoped that if anything else, she could make a game out of this and have some fun, even if she didn't get to capture him.
