After a little time being cradled Sideswipe finally sat up a bit more straight,"Hey Ironhide not sure if I'll have another episode hit but I should try getting my usual training going again, I've already missed my morning ones but I should try and get an afternoon session."He said, trying to push the need of high grade to the back of his mind, his tank churning at the thought as well since he knew he would have to stop those cravings. But maybe some training would be helpful for that, that's if Ironhide would let him.

Ironhide looked at Sideswipe thoughtfully for a moment, then nodded and and patted the younger mech's shoulder. "I'll go with ya, need ta get in some rounds myself actually. Do a run t'gether like we used ta do?" he offered with a smile, then got up and pulled Sideswipe up onto his wheels with him. He honestly missed the training sessions they used to have together, lately ending up training separately given their varied specializations. But Ironhide wasn't about to let something like that stop him from standing with his adopted sons, if they would let him. Now all Ironhide had to do was find a way to rekindle the father/son relationship with Sunstreaker, if such were still possible.

Sideswipe stood, rolling his shoulders a bit as he looked at Ironhide with a grin,”Been too long since we’ve done one together ‘Hide, so that’s a definite yes.” He said. It had been too long that they had trained together, the silver mech hardly remembering the last time they had really worked together at all due to their different fields of specialty for combat. Though they none the less seemed to balance each other out quite well, which definitely helped both in training and on the battle field. “Heh, maybe we should try back to back.”He suggested as he headed from his quarters.

Ironhide nodded with a broad grin. "Yeah, sounds good ta me." he answered with a nod, then stepped to the door to lead his friend and protege out, this time with a comforting arm around Sideswipe's shoulders instead of forcibly dragging him out to the training grounds. He couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of that, though he merely patted the back of Sideswipe's shoulder good-naturedly. At least he was able to help the silver mech get back on the right path again, and hopefully that path would stay with the younger mech.

Smiling slightly Sideswipe walked with his former mentor, the one who had always guided him and Sunstreaker during the bad times, and still was in a way his teacher and father no matter what. This time he was looking forward to the training with Ironhide other then dreading it like a little while ago, shuddering a bit at the memory of how angry Ironhide had been and how hard he had been pushed to try and get a point across. He surely wouldn’t be doing that again, since he hadn’t had that tough of training since his times back as a trainee on cybertron.

Ironhide led Sideswipe to the training course, and enough time had passed that the targets and turrets were fully repaired again. He brought the setting down slightly so as to not push Sideswipe too hard like he had done before, but enough to give them both a good run to work out some excess energy and frustration, as well as to help practice their skills more effectively. He spun up his cannons and gave Sideswipe a nod before he stepped forward to start the session, moving in parallel with the younger mech so they could cover each other most effectively.
In the back of his processor, Ironhide couldn't help but think of Barricade and the training sessions they had shared long ago before the war, and part of him longed for those days to come to them again. But he knew he would have to wait, so he would wait, though not quite so patiently as others might. Their reconciliation was still very new and their reunion incredibly fragile. Knowing this, and knowing what Barricade had gone through, he knew he would have to tread carefully with the younger mech, and he knew the best way to truly win Barricade back was to return to when they first met, to offer his comfort and caring and let Barricade come to him. Ironhide held out hope that with time, they could regain what they had lost and more, but that would take time, patience, and trust from them both. For the possibility of getting back what had been lost to him for far too long, Ironhide was more than willing to give Barricade all he could.
He then looked to Sideswipe as the silver mech moved with him, and his thoughts turned to Speed Demon and seeing her in Sideswipe's arms. Despite her still being so young, the vision of the pair together and the possibility of a bonding between them made Ironhide smile. At least they would have each other, just as Sideswipe and Sunstreaker always had each other. All he could hope was that Sunstreaker would find his own true Spark soon, then he would not feel remorse for his adopted young ones when the time came and he would pass, his Spark returning to Primus. And on that day, Ironhide hoped that Barricade would travel with him, that they would never be apart, knowing his own brother waited for him there with open arms. It made his Spark ache, yet he couldn't help but smile a bit knowing his brother was still there, likely watching over him still. He just hoped that his big brother looked on him with all the love and pride he showed Ironhide while he still lived.

Sideswipe ejected his swords, his now signature weapons since he had started as a trainee several years ago. Those times had been rough, especially with it being during the war and him and his brother having to learn quickly, which between the two of them they had proved a formidable team. Alone they were good, but together they were one of the best and they had made it clear among the Autobots ranks fairly quickly. Though when they had been separated Sideswipe had to adapt to that and found himself being able to work fairly well with Ironhide all the same
But it still brought back memories and he briefly envisioned himself shortly after his brother had been assigned elsewhere and Sideswipe staying at main head quarters, learning to feel his brother being so distant. Now he had him again and his friends, which at the same time he knew he had nearly lost all that he had gotten back which made him clench his fists,{"Not again, never again."} He told himself and thought of his feelings for Speed Demon, knowing he didn't want to put her through that as well.
"I got your back 'Hide." Sideswipe said as he twisted slightly to block a few shots aimed for his mentor then looked at the burly mech with a grin,"Just try and keep up."He said with a teasing, light hearted tone before moving with Ironhide and watching his back while watching around him to attack or block shots.

Ironhide nodded and offered Sideswipe a smirk of his own as he moved in tandem with his young protege. He loved Sideswipe and Sunstreaker as though they were his own, and he also well knew how formidable they were as a fighting unit together. He felt a swell of pride in his Spark as they moved together, seeing his adoptive son fighting strong at his side again. He hoped the other one would forgive him their forced separation and how hard he pushed them sometimes. But Ironhide knew that as long as the brothers stayed together they would survive, and he would never let go of them, even when his Spark faded and went out. He blocked and shot around Sideswipe, his larger size granting the younger mech both cover and support while Sideswipe's size and speed provided Ironhide with cover lower down to protect his legs from meing shot out from under him by the turrets. He had to admit, they certainly made a good team when Sideswipe knuckled down and wasn't showboating.

To any watching and who knew the two combat instructors it really seemed Sideswipe and Ironhide equaled each other, with Sideswipe before small, sleek and quick while Ironhide had strength, power, and a combination of agility. Honestly it had once surprised Sideswipe that he could ever be considered Ironhide's equal, especially when he had been much younger. Ducking a few turret shots he decided to bring it up,"Hey 'Hide feels strange still to be considered your equal." He commented as he struck out at some turrets, darting out occasionally before returning right back to Ironhide's side,"Never really saw it that way, don't think Sunny did either."

Ironhide chuckled at that and shot out one of the turrets. "You n yer brother 're bout as close as anybot'll get ta that. I oughta know, I trained ya. Trained most o' the bots followin' Prime..." He stepped past Sideswipe and shot down an incoming round that was aimed at Sideswipe's shoulder cannons. "N along with Prime n his brother, the pair o' ya're some o' my best students." he finished. "I trained ya t'gether cause yer twin brothers fer one, n two, I expect the pair o' ya ta take my place someday." he admitted. He was feeling his age and had been for some time, though he had to admit it was more from the loneliness and weariness of the war than any serious chassis issues outside of his far too many battle scars.

Sideswipe listened to Ironhide as he activated his shoulder machine gun and fired a few rounds at several turrets, giving Ironhide a side glance. There seemed more to this then what Ironhide was saying, possibly something he wasn't ready to say but it concerned Sideswipe quite a bit so he glanced at his old mentor,"Ironhide is there more to this then your letting on? Call me crazy, but it just feels like you aren't saying something." He said with concern, ducking a few shots before firing at the turrets that then aimed for Ironhide and blew them to pieces before looking at the old mech.

Ironhide blew apart two more turrets, then looked over at Sideswipe with a bit of a non-committal grunt. "Eh, just gettin' old, I guess." he remarked and moved a bit further down into the thick of the targets and turrets, blasting away at them trying to take his processor off the pain and loneliness he felt. There was one he needed, yet could not reach, one who could not yet be with him and yet he knew everyone believed they hated each other so much they would kill each other on sight. Of course, the Decepticon scout's rather violent escape only served to emphasize that point, yet Ironhide knew who had really attacked him. It still pained him knowing they couldn't be together, at least not yet, and the safety of the mech he loved was forever occupying his thoughts in some way, fearing he would loose his love again. For now, there was nothing Ironhide could do but hope and pray things would turn out okay.

"You getting old? Since when?" Sideswipe joked with a wide grin, but grunted as a few turrets got him in the head,"Slag that hurt!!"Turning he fired the turrets that fired on him, grumbling at himself for being so careless and folded the machine guns down behind his shoulders before ejecting his wrist blades. Racing forward the silver mech began slashing at the turrets, though he didn't go too far from Ironhide, knowing going too far in a fight when it was only two again many could be life threatening.
Though Sideswipe was relieved that his skills hadn't completely turned out to be clumsy, perhaps having caught the addiction quicker then he expected. And luckily he struck down some final turrets before the exercise was finally over and looked back at Ironhide with a smile. "But old or not 'Hide, glad you've always been there to help when ti was needed, like today when I needed help the most."He said, though he would have to confess what had been the problem to Ratchet with knowing he had been rude when he left so abruptly.

Ironhide chuckled a bit at that and shook his head, turning to help finish off the last few targets before he finally turned towards Sideswipe, giving his cannons a minor adjustment before powering them down. He looked at the younger mech then, a paternal smile on his scarred features. "Well, what's a Progenitor ta do when his Sparklins're in trouble?" he offered with a shrug. "I couldn't just let ya fall, I had ta do somethin' ta help get ya outa that hole ya were burryin' yerself in." he said and placed a hand on Sideswipe's shoulder. "Ya know I love ya n yer brother like my own, always did. I dun wanna lose either o' ya. Yer s'posed ta outlive me, not the other way 'round." Ironhide added softly. All he could do was hope that Sunstreaker would be as forgiving as Sideswipe was.

Looking at Ironhide Sideswipe nodded in understanding, retracting his blades now that the session was over. "I know you always been like a father to us Ironhide and I hope Sunny will realize that, if he was ever angry. But I couldn't tell from our bond, not with being apart so long or from when we met up a while back, seems his usual self I can say that much." He said thoughtfully before he grinned,"And you know I knew I would get you to laugh to one of my jokes one these days."Sideswipe said, still grinning like an idiot.
