Hearing the machine gun fire, Wheeljack turned suddenly and skidded to a stop. "Aw slag it all..." he groaned, the voice seeming to have come more from the car than the person driving it. Then Jack gave Devon an apologetic look. "Better get ready to run, this is gonna get ugly fast. Hide somewhere in here and I'll pick ya up when I deal with this idiot." he said, and to Devon's utter surprise, the holoform flickered and seemed to burst into a cloud of silvery gray particles that were absorbed into the vehicle's dash right before the entire Mustang itself quite literally rearranged its parts around him, ending up as an eighteen foot robot crouched there with Devon in one hand, gently setting him down on his feet. Wheeljack looked at Devon with blue optics that seemed to match his racing stripes as a banded battle mask clicked into place over a reassuring smile to protect the lower half of his face. "I'll be right back, I promise." he said with confidence before he turned his gaze towards the Decepticon chopper, his gaze hardening. For his size he moved surprisingly fast, even with being restricted in a 12 foot high space, easily avoiding vehicles as he moved to an upper level along the internal ramps, then putting himself into position at the edge, hidden still. He then carefully aimed his guns at Vortex, unloading four gyro inhibitor shells at the chopper in an effort to bring him down quickly. There was no way to avoid collateral damage in this, Vortex had already seen to that, but at least the humans knew to scatter for cover, and hopefully he could minimize the damage if he can get Vortex grounded quickly. As soon as his shots were fired, Wheeljack changed position, coming around a support pillar and using it and the exterior barrier wall as cover.

Devon blinked a bit a bit surprised at the little vanishing act before the car shifted into this robotic being. Even in his surprise Devon still managed to remember to grab his skate board before ending up in this white and blue bot's hand. So the rumors were true? They did live among beings of a different origins, he had heard whispers but dismissed them as the rambling of bar clients who had had one too many. As Wheeljack ran deeper into the structure, Devon watched, not realizing in his astonishment that he had released his binder and thus, it wasn't compressing much of anything at this point. He then looked out where the chaos was occurring. He didn't know just what possessed him to want to get closer, a better look, but something did. He dropped his skateboard, running to it and jumping on before beginning to climb up the ramp to the next floor of the parking structure. He wanted to know what was going on, he well intended to remain out of view but he did want to know what the hell was happening. He went up another two levels on the parking structure before jumping off his skateboard, picking it up and crouching, moving towards the cement low wall at the side of the parking structure, watching what was going on above that wall through what he could see in a nearby car's windshield.

Vortex spotted the shots, twisting in the air like no helicopter should be able to to avoid them. There was a close call, but he managed to avoid impact. "Hehehe....I love it when they've got some Spark in them!" He fired his machine guns some more, looking for Wheeljack, and started firing his glue gun into the garage as well. "Why don't you come out here and play, Autobot? I might start getting bored otherwise, and I've become a bit curious as to what the humans will do in different situations." He giggled at the thought, showing that his ideas were nothing of the good sort.

Wheeljack scowled from behind his cover, then turned, firing a full spread of gyro inhibitor shells at Vortex, two directly at him, the rest in a broad dispersal pattern around the Decepticon chopper, eight shots total, in the hopes that some would impact his frame and bring the sadistic mech down, then Wheeljack ducked around the other way, heading back the way he had come and being careful to avoid the globs on the ground as he moved up to the next higher level in the parking structure. "If I can't bring his aft down quick, I'm gonna need to call in a heavy hitter or two." he remarked softly to himself as he moved into position behind a support pillar.

Devon looked around for a moment, this was not a good situation, and he hated being useless. This was a parking garage, there had to be something he could use to help. This chopper was close to the building, there had to be a way to use that against him. Within a moment a smirk came to Devon's face, if there was one thing there were plenty of in this parking garage, it was metal cables, that thing shooting stuff up out there used rotors to keep aloft, if steel cables were to be introduced to said rotors, the sheer dents would make it hard to keep aloft for the craft. Devon moved from his hiding spot then, making his way between the rows of parked cars to the anchor points of a few cables that were used to separate the vehicles. He detached the anchor points, gathering the cables before getting on his skate board to get together a few more, it was then he saw something which could be very, very useful in this case, a car trunk that wasn't completely closed. Normally he wouldn't touch out people's stuff, but normally there wasn't a helicopter using the street for target practice either. He skated over to the trunk, taking a look inside and finding three items out of that mess that could be very, very useful, a four way tire iron, gorilla glue and some water balloons. He grabbed those three items, touching nothing else before skating up two more levels. He situated himself between two large pillars of the structure and went to work on his idea here.
Looping the cables around the tire iron just enough for them to hold but so they still had plenty of reach he wanted to mess up those rotors with that cable after all, and to be more certain they did so, he wanted them to reach from the center of this little set up like arms. The gorilla glue he filled two of the water balloons with before attaching on of said balloons on each side of the tire iron at the center of this. He them put a little more of the glue in four more balloons, attaching then randomly on the metal cables that were likely to hit the chopper. The idea was to get above this chopper, throw this rig out above his rotors, choppers could maneuver but the very construction of such an item isn't extremely high visibility unless you're looking for at and, considering this chopper was shooting at the ground, Devon had a feeling he wasn't looking up too much. If any of the balloons filled with the gorilla glue were to come in contact with the rotors, which considering he had put 6 of them on there he figured wasn't too unlikely, it would probably splatter quite a bit, allowing some of the 10 cables sticking out to get stuck on the attacker and essentially wrap him a bit, which he figured would be terror on those rotors. The tire iron was just needed to give a central attach point and the weight needed to throw the rig out a decent distance. Sure, it looked ridiculous, but if it worked, even a bit, no one was going to care that it looked like it was thrown together in a few moments, because it honestly was. Once he had the rig completed he moved to skate up some more, aiming to get to the second to top level, where he had the best change of being able to get this thing on the chopper's rotors.

Vortex cackled with glee as he fired. That was, at least, until one of Wheeljack's gyro-inhibitor shells nailed him in the side, sending his sense of balance reeling. "Waaaaaahhhh!!!!!" His frame tipped and turned from side to side, his only saving grace from completely flipping over was the fact that rotors kinda tended to stay on top to begin with. Still, the amount of time he was going to be able to keep that up was up in the air. Literally.

Wheeljack smiled behind his mask hearing Vortex cry out when one of the shells hit and destabilized his gyros. He then turned and fired three more at the now wobbly copter, hoping he could bring it down, not knowing Devon was up to something creative to help ground the crazy copter. "Maybe I won't need backup then if I can get his aft on the ground. Need to disable that gun of his too." he muttered to himself and loaded a needle bomb, firing it at the chopper as well.

Once Devon got the the second to top level, he looked over the edge, seeing the chopper having a little difficulty. He watched for a moment, seeing the area the chopper was trying to find as it's center for a moment so he had the most chance of actually hitting him with the cable rig. After a moment her figured it out, he then threw the tire iron, cable and glue balloon metal octopus looking rig over the side, putting a bit of horizontal spin into his throw, making the cable sprawl out much like a net as it sailed over the wall and began to fall to where the chopper was trying to get itself to hover. He then looked over the edge, watching to see if he hit. He was hoping to get near the center, get the balloons to burst and gunk up the chopper, hopefully getting a few cables glues with that gorilla glue so they wrapped to cause the most issue. If the chopper went down he expected a few cars to get crushed, but seeing as most people with a brain would have gotten out the area when the shots started being fired, he figured just taking the chopper down here would cause less collateral damage, and hopefully give the blue and white one a fighting chance.

The next three shells slammed into Vortex's side, making the already destabilized chopper wobble and spin even more, The needle bomb managed to get him through his cockpit windshield, which, unfortunately, meant that all the tiny pieces of shrapnel exploded into his interior. And as if that weren't enough for Vortex, something cablely and metallic caught the edge of one of his rotors, whipping the entire "octopus" contraption around, the balloons with the gorilla glue inside exploding on his frame, making the cables that had wrapped around him stick fast, and the ones around his rotors made the entire assembly grind to a halt. No rotor movement meant no flying, so Vortex plummeted like the 2-ton stone that he was, slamming into the ground with a shriek of rage, followed by "No, I'm not trying to kiss and make up with you, slaggit!"

Wheeljack grinned as the three gyro shells hit, then chuckled as the needle bomb went through and exploded inside Vortex' cockpit. "Gotcha." he muttered to himself, then tilted his head in confusion as the odd cable contraption came flying down and wrapped Vortex up, causing him to plummet to the ground, though the chopper's remark made him laugh out loud. "STILL NOT ON SPEAKING TERMS WITH THE GROUND, ARE YA, VORTEX?!" he shouted down at the Decepticon chopper, then looked up at where the cables had come from, spotting Devon peeking over the side to watch the helicopter go down. "Hey, Good Shot!" he called up, then looked back down at Vortex. He then moved over to where some of Vortex's glue had landed, pulling off a car hood to scrape up a sizable glob, then slipped out and activated his boosters for a controlled descent to land near Vortex' tail boom. "Well, well, well, looks like you lost an argument with a metal octopus there, 'Texy." he remarked with a chuckle, bringing his blaster rifle to bear on the chopper and balancing the glue laden hood in his other hand. "Tsk tsk, those needles are gonna be a pain to get out." he added, then walked up and promptly pushed the car hood with the glue onto Vortex's fuselage to disable his guns for a while. "There, that oughta keep ya fer a bit while I make sure everyone else cleared out." He then started searching around the area, making sure any humans that had been there were in fact long gone. He had no real intention of continuing his assault on Vortex, he simply wanted the chopper disabled for now so he could get the humans and himself out of the area safely. Unlike Ironhide, Wheeljack was not one to finish off an already downed opponent. Such simply was not his style.

Devon grinned, doing a fist pump when Vortex went down "Yes!" he exclaimed before hearing the shout from below and giving a wave to the blue and white bot "And this is why you never underestimate the little ones!" he called back down with a chuckle before putting his skateboard back down, still unaware that, not only was his binder no longer holding, but it had actually fallen out from his shirt at this point, right now this situation had him a bit pumped and excited. He stepped onto his skate board then, kicking off to start going down the ramps quickly before ducking into one of the stairwells and popping his board up to rail grind all the way down along the long stair way that linked each level to the ground. He got down pretty quickly that way. Once one ground level he skated out before hopping off his board and popping it up a bit so he could catch it, resting it over his shoulder was he moved to where the blue bot was, keeping his distance from that chopper "DUDE! That was sweet! What the hell had you hit him with that made him go all loopy?" he asked and, though his voice was deep enough to be male, it also decided to crack at the end of that statement, prompting him to clear his throat a bit. He then looked at the chopper, keeping his distance a bit and seeing how his little makeshift contraption had caught the heli "Man, that worked better than I expected it to, I'm going to have to remember that one." he said with a smile. Devon was, however, still completely unaware that his binder was no longer there and thus, where there was a flat chest before, there were now two decent sized bumps that anyone who had seen a biological female before would recognize.

Vortex growled at the blue and white Autobot, his form tensing and straining against the cables as he attempted to transform. "I get my hands on you, and I'm going to make every circuit in your frame fry out before pulling every scrap of information from your processor, then I'll send you to the Pit!" His rotors strained against the cables, making an already-damaged one snap. "And maybe you'll even see your pathetic Sparkling jets you were so proud of! Got a bad habit of not being around to take care of your offspring, don't you?" Had he been in robot form, Vortex would have been smirking behind his mask. He wasn't about to say anything else to Wheeljack, he'd already said what needed to be said. Even though he hadn't seen anything of the Aerialbots since he'd left Cybertron, but that really didn't matter. What did matter was the little seed he was hoping had been planted in the engineer's processor.

Wheeljack chuckled a bit as Devon approached him, though he did tilt his head a bit, noticing the change. "Yeah, you're certainly a good one ta have around in a scrap, ain't ya." He did a brief scan of Devon then, discovering just what the young man had meant about his 'condition'. His Spark went out to the poor young man, unable to simply be as he felt himself he should be without major surgical reconstruction. He knelt down then, his mask retracting as he looked at him. "Looks like we're gonna have to track down your brace. It's alright, I'll help ya find it, okay?" he offered gently, though his expression turned dark as Vortex spoke. He then turned and glared at Vortex. "They will come to Earth, and then you and the rest of the Decepticons will fall by SUPERION'S hands!" he snarled and fired a neural tazer shell at the chopper to at least shut him up, if not knock him out. Yes, he was very proud of his adoptive sons, and with the five of them together, he was certain they would survive where the others had not. It still pained his Spark to have lost them, yet he hoped they were at peace with Primus. He closed his optics and turned away from Vortex, transforming and opening the drivers side door for Devon, though for the moment he remained quiet. He had no creation bond with them and had no way of knowing if they still lived, but he had to hold out hope they would find him soon. He had to hold onto that hope, for their sake as well as for his own, he could not bear the alternative.

When Wheeljack mentioned the lose of the 'brace' a major oh shit expression came across Devon's face as he quickly brought a have to pull his jacket closed in front of his chest. "Shit, shit, shit, -shit-! How did I not notice that?" he scolded himself before watching the blue and white bot change back into the car he met him as. He didn't freak out, he just rolled with it. This made Devon give a sigh of relief before he moved to the driver's side door then, getting in and closing the door a bit more gently than he had previously before looking at the dash "You didn't freak out, most people don't know what to think or do around people like me. You didn't even pause." Devon said, seeming to be having a bit of disbelief before a smile showed on his lips, he set his skateboard on the passenger seat before more or less hugging Wheeljack's steering wheel "Thank you for not freaking or anything, you don't know how much I wish everyone reacted so casually to finding out!" he said before he realized just how ridiculous looking what he was doing right now was and sitting back properly in the seat "Umm, yea, sorry about that. I do have other. . .braces at home, but they are rather expensive so, if we could recover the other one, that would save me about 50 bucks it would take to replace." he told him, smiling a bit. Someone didn't pause or be surprised or anything, just reacted as casually as when someone finds out another dyes their hair, and he was glad for that.

The neural tazer shell sent a jolt through Vortex's systems, making him yelp before his vocal system completely shut off. {"That was interesting..."} He thought to himself, before turning his attention back to trying to get free. If he couldn't get free in a reasonable amount of time, then he'd probably have to find out if one of his brothers was around and ask them for a hand.
