Rper: Imaginary
Character type: permanent
Name: Syndicate
Nicknames: Syn
Gender Identity: Femme
Approx age: Pre-war (approx. human age equivalent 37)
Alliance: Decepticon
Function/Job: Medic
Height: about 68ft
Approx mass: 31,500 lbs
Cybertronian type: Normal Cybertronian
Personality: Syndicate tends to be rather quiet and solitary overall and can be quite level headed. She’s more often than not in her med bay constantly working to keep it pristine and does not normally take well to people coming in when they do not need medical treatment. When treating someone in need of medical help she has very gentile bedside manner and gives off a very soft and caring essence but once you’re fine she wants you out of her med bay immediately. She tends to make an exception for other medics if she gets along with them well enough but even so it is generally a good idea not to overstay your welcome. After all, the slightest trigger could send a running power saw flying your way.
When Syndicate isn’t calm she is more often than not in a violent rage. Her emotions can be so erratic that one may never know just what will trigger a change in demeanor, not surprising as she is going mad more and more rapidly as time goes on. She is in constant agonizing pain though doesn’t show it and those who pass by her med bay may hear what sounds like a one-sided conversation coming from her from time to time.
Appearance: Syndicate may not be the sleekest looking femme she makes up for it with intimidation. She is quite large for a femme and completely black to match the normal coloration of her alt mode and her optic are a dark burning red. Her wings are slanted down and fold back behind her but are prone to flaring out when she is agitated.
Alt mode:
Holoform: (Amy Lee)
Weapons: Her only real weaponry is the two laser pistols she carries on her which mount themselves on her alt mode to be used if needed. Aside from that she mainly has a lot of medical tools though she will not hesitate to throw a power saw at someone while it’s on.
Abilities: none
Strengths: Syndicate is a very skilled medic and thus knows a lot about Cybertronian physiology. She can put someone back together or she can take them apart. She tends to know what the weak points are on different types of frames and will attack those first if she finds herself in a fight considering she generally tries to avoid fights and wants it to end quickly. Her abilities as a stealth tend to allow her get around without being noticed and come in out of nowhere with an attack if needed.
Weaknesses: Syndicate is slowly going mad. She doesn’t know when a random fit of rage will be triggered all the time, when she will start or stop hallucinating, or when she may suddenly need to satisfy her lithium addiction. For these reasons she tends to stay in her med bay as it is a very controlled environment that provides just about anything she may need.
Family: Direwind – Sparkmate (deceased)
History: Syndicate had a relatively quiet life before the war, spending most of her time studying the medical field and improving her skill in it. She enjoyed helping people and the medical field gave her ample opportunity to do so. She was very gentile and often tried to cheer up her trine-mates, Cloudstreaker and Darkwind, as well as look out for them. Eventually she ended up being the “mom” of the group, making sure they were in good health and at least somewhat good moods. It wasn’t long before she met an aerial frame mech by the name of Direwind who eventually became her sparkmate. While she lived with him she spent just as much time with her trine-mates, which he completely understood seeing how much she viewed them as family. It seemed at that point that she would live a long and happy life. Then the war started.
Both Cloudstreaker and Darkwind chose to join the Decepticons but Direwind chose to side with the Autobots. Syndicate was torn, not wanting to go against either and desperate to stay with both but she already knew that was an impossibility. She eventually made her choice based on one fact, if she were separated from Direwind too long it would take a heavy toll on her own spark. She went with him to join the Autobots, her skills as a medic earning her a position quickly. Direwind became a fighter and she constantly worried for him never allowing herself to be too far from where he was stationed should either of them need each other and so she could always verify immediately that he was alright after a battle. This worked well for quite some time as no one objected to having a medic around all the time wherever he was. But one day there was a battle that would change her life. It was a surprise attack on the group Direwind was stationed with. Syndicate had been a bit further from the location when the attack happened but was still the closest medic. She had felt the flood of immense pain over the spark bond and worried, though she could still feel him over the bond and sent him whatever comfort she could. But when she saw his mangled frame carried into the med bay panic shot through her. It was a miracle he was even alive at all and Syndicate rushed to him in hysterics to tend to him. However other Autobots noticed she was in no state to handle such delicate work and pulled her away before she could tend to him knowing she could possibly do more harm to him and calling for the next closest medic to see to him. Syndicate fought against their hold and pleaded desperately for them to let her tend to her sparkmate but they refused to let her go. It was only minutes later that she felt the agony of Direwind’s spark going out. She collapsed but her energy levels were so high from her fighting against them she didn’t die or go into a complete stasis. She was fully conscious as they tended to her, now unable to feel her sparkmate and becoming consumed by the horror of that sudden emptiness within her own spark while she was kept stable. As soon as she regained the ability to move she fought her way away from the Autobots and ran off to seek out the Decepticons.
Upon finding to Decepticons she asked to join them, expressing her deep hatred for the Autobots for killing her sparkmate and offering her skills as a medic. The Decepticons accepted her, seeing the value in having another medic and one that might have decent bedside manner at that. As soon as she was among the other faction she had her optics surgically altered to red. She seemed to fit in among them just fine, having a very dark and cold presence to her most of the time and being generally solitary. However, living without her sparkmate did not go without consequences. She was in constant physical pain from the separation and suffered from frequent mental breakdowns and depression. It wasn’t long before she turned to her knowledge of medicine for a cure and began self-administering lithium to dull the pain and function as an anti-depressant so no one would know of the severity. The small bit of relief it provided was enough to form an addiction, one that is still growing. Even through the administered medicine her spark called desperately for Direwind’s and after a while her processor succumbed to the desperation a bit, causing her to hallucinate that her sparkmate was there from time to time. At first she tried to ignore the hallucinations as she consciously knew the impossibility of him being there but eventually desperation became too strong to overcome and she began speaking to the hallucination, the data in her processor of his personality forming appropriate responses for him. As time went on the hallucinations slowly became more frequent and tended to stay for longer periods of time.
She eventually met Windstorm who she eventually became close with. The younger femme’s childish antics triggered the strong maternal instinct that was still in Syndicate’s spark and she began to look after her in much the same way she used to look after her trine-mates as much as the rotary framed femme may frustrate her sometimes. She recently was called upon to go to Earth as they needed more Decepticon medics there.
