RPer: Suburban Wulf (Chasm)
Character Type: Permanent
Name: The Aperture Science Weighted Companion Cube
Nickname: The Faithful Companion Cube, Faith
Gender Identity: Non/Dual, identifies mainly as male
Approximate Age: Approximately 27 years, less than a year of sentience.
Alliance: Aperture Science
Function/Job: Aperture Science testing equipment
Height: 5’9”
Approximate Mass: 350 lbs
Type of Cybertronian: Pretender
Personality: Faith has some anger issues, though in his defense they are justified. He was perfectly happy spending his days as a non-sentient object, not actually knowing what was happening to him. When GLaDOS turned him into a pretender, he gained the ability to remember, and remembered most of what had happened to him before he became sentient. He despises GLaDOS as a result, and constantly wishes that she’d never given him sentience. Interestingly enough, despite his hatred of being alive, he has no wish to die.
Faith is desperate to escape the facility. From test subjects from his period of non-sentience, he gained a small idea of what the outside world was like, and he wishes to go there, and take Eve with him. He looks at Eve as a younger sister, and wishes to get her away from GLaDOS before the AI-turned-Cybertronian can do more harm to the young techno-organic.
Appearance: Robot mode always covered by human appearance.
Alt Mode: Weighted Companion Cube
Holoform/Human Form: Faith has two human forms, the one he takes depends on who he is a “companion” to. He currently defaults to male, though his appearance is still in-between. He wears a black spandex suit, over which are a pair of grey pants, and a grey t-shirt with his cube form’s patterning on it. His eyes area light pink, like the hearts on his cube form, and his hair is short and a light grey. When he takes a more feminine appearance, the sleeves of the suit shorten, and the shirt becomes a tank top. His hair will also lengthen to about mid-back.
Weapons: None
Abilities: None
Strengths: In cube form, Faith is nearly indestructible. He can be (and has been) thrown, blasted, torched, launched, immersed in acid, stepped on (depending on weight), stabbed, shot, run over, kicked, dropped, boiled, hammered, blown up, and thrown into a food processor, and be able to it all over again. A combination of material type and high density make his cube form very, very durable.
Weaknesses: Unlike his cube form, Faith’s Pretender form is much more prone to injury and destruction. One of the only things that Faith’s pretender form has been proven to stand up really well to is incineration. He can also take most non-weapon attacks that can be performed by a human, and even some Techno-Organics.
Family: GLaDOS; “creator.” Eve; “sister.”
History: The earliest recorded history of the Aperture Science Weighted Companion Cube seems to be after the AI known as GLaDOS took control of the Aperture Science Enrichment Center. The Companion Cube was integrated into the testing of Aperture employees that GLaDOS had started conducting. He was introduced in test chamber 17. Test subjects were given the task of carrying the Companion Cube around to help them solve the chamber, and to take care of him. The final action in the chamber was the required “euthanization” of the Companion Cube as “it could not accompany them through the remainder of the testing.”
After the distruction of GLaDOS, as well as the Enrichment Center, by the test subject known as “Chell,” no further records of the Companion Cube are found. It was assumed that the Companion Cube was still at the facility, but it was never recovered, as records of the Enrichment Center’s location were lost.
Reports from an unknown Aperture Science Enrichment Center location indicate that the Companion Cube was removed from the location of the original Enrichment Center, and reformatted. The reasoning for the Companion Cube’s reformatting has been listed as “a way for the Faithful Companion Cube to interact better with the test subject, as well as form a more solid companionship with them.”
