RPer: Suburban Wulf (Chasm)
Character Type: Permanent
Name: Aperture Science Sentry Turret
Nickname: Terri
Gender Identity: Femme
Approximate Age: 27 years (Approximately 13 years of full sentience.)
Alliance: Aperture Science
Function/Job: Sentry Turret
Height: 2.5 Feet (1.5 in robot mode)
Approximate Mass: 30 lbs
Type of Cybertronian: Symbiote
Personality: Terri is highly inquisitive and curious, wanting to know all there is about the outside world. This can lead to endless games of “20 Qustions” with whoever seems to be answering her questions at the time. Currently, Terri can be considered illiterate, as she cannot read human or Cybertronian languages, though she can speak English. Her method of reading is in Bianary, the native language of computers. Once she has the ability to convert English to Bianary, however, it is likely that she will turn to books for answers to most of her questions.
Terri is also a bit cautious, which, given where she lives currently, is a good thing. She has been keeping her developed Spark, sentience, and need for energon secret for as long as it has been occurring, which is not an easy task, considering the fact that GLaDOS is always watching the facility, and Terri has no way of knowing if she’s currently being watched, and to be found out is to be experimented on. Because of this, Terri will act and behave like any other Sentry Turret, unless, perhaps, she happens to meet someone who can potentially help her escape.
Appearance: Terri
Alt Mode: Aperture Science Sentry Turret
Holoform/Human Form: N/A
Weapons: 4 spring-loaded “Projectile Acceleration Cylinders,” two on each arm, and a near-endless supply of ammo.
Abilities: Seems to know a lot about the history of Aperture Science.
Strengths: Terry’s size allows her to be an extremely hard target to hit, as well as to potentially escape the notice of larger Cybertronians.
Weaknesses: Terry’s bullet storage space has shrunk considerably with the growth of her Cybertronian systems, meaning that she cannot hold as many rounds as before, and has to absorb scrap more often in order to keep her levels up.
In addition, the shut-down switch in the Turrets, triggered by them being knocked over, is still functional in Terry, the difference being that setting her upright will allow her to boot back up.
Family: None
History: Terri was created like any other Sentry Turret in Aperture Science, and was moved to the new Aperture Science facility. During one of the recharging periods, where the turret’s power was recharged, some energon got mixed up and was given to Terri instead of full electricity. This started a slow, gradual change in her Earth-made systems. A laser core was formed, and a Spark slowly started to grow. This started a change in Terri that was not purely visible; giving her sentience, and, by extension, life. She became aware of what was going on around her, but kept quiet, fearing discovery.
Now, she is still pretending to be merely another of GLaDOS’s Sentry Turrets, acting as any other one would to not give any impression to GLaDOS that she is any different from the other turrets. She wants to get away from Aperture Science, because to leave is to be safe, but she also knows that trying to escape on her own will result in discovery, and most likely a large amount of unpleasant tests.
