Rper: Jetta Windstar
Character type: Permanent
Name: Joanne Rhodes
Nicknames: Jo
Gender Identity: female
Approx age: 31
Alliance: Autobots
Function/Job: NEST Chief Medic; USArmy Sergeant Major
Height: 5’8’’
Approx mass: 210 lbs due to what she is (lighter than male but still heavier than an average female her age)
Cybertronian type: Pretender
Personality: Joanne is a very strong, persistent and serious individual. She’s distant, well rounded in her field, and reasonably stubborn. Sometimes, Jo is very quiet, especially when she feels her confidence lacking or when she’s moody. Joanne is also very polite and courteous when dealing with the public or other operations, though sometimes depending on her mood, she can be awkward to approach unless one knows her well, which many don’t. Joanne is sometimes grumpy like Ratchet, but at times she can be considerably more easy going and not as awkward to be around once you get to know her. Her cheerfulness is often like a mask to hide the other side of herself.
Joanne has a slightly rebellious side which many do not see except in more extreme situations. It takes a while for her to be drawn out of her shell, but when things get rough, she toughens up and seems like a different person at certain times. She isn’t much of a fighter, but she does know how to take care of herself. Joanne has a lot of pride being a woman and keeping up her appearance and reputation, but if she has to fight or take care of a severely injured soldier, she’ll do whatever it takes.
Should Joanne find a someone more than just a friend regardless of the race, Joanne is very loyal and honest. She isn’t the clingy and heavily talkative type, but over time she will open up and one will learn quickly that she’s quite pleasant to be around. Regardless of her loneliness, her main passion is being a front line Army medic, one that has transferred to NEST, and her patients will always come first no matter what her schedule, even if sleep must be sacrificed (though she is very aware that it can be very taxing and unsafe).
Appearance: Liv Tyler
Joanne is a fit woman with dark auburn hair and blue eyes. She has somewhat pale skin and a calm poise. Joanne usually keeps her hair tied up and straightened but occasionally lets it have a thicker volume, when not in uniform it often appears thicker and a little wavy. The first picture shows how she usually looks out of her uniform without styling her hair.
Alt mode: none
Holoform: N/A
Weapons: Joanne has no weapons as far as her actual form goes, but she has access to an array of weapons being registered at NEST as both Autobot Pretender and a NEST operative. She usually uses light guns or grenades, but sometimes she’ll be seen carrying around a twin set of machetes that she owns.
Abilities: Joanne has a decent increase in agility and endurance due to being something like a TO. She is not however, so she does not have any ‘special’ abilities, but she definitely is far tougher than your ordinary military woman. She can take beatings in battle and knows how to deliver pretty good hits if she doesn’t let herself get rusty.
Strengths: Her skills-Joanne is an expert medic, she’s got a natural healer’s touch, though she’s no therapist. However, she does know how people work, as she spends a lot of time observing them in and out of her profession. Joanne is quite tough and can endure a lot of stress. Joanne isn't much of a fighter but she does have good training from being in the Army.
Weaknesses: Joanne is very shy and distant. Her work always coming first, Joanne has little time to actually have fun like a woman her age should away from work. Work is her life and she does not see it as a bad thing, but she does often overwork herself, which often causes a mental strain. Add that to the loneliness she denies, and she can bottle up a lot of stress.
Family:
not well known, two Cybertronian Pretenders that stayed on Cybertron and passed away there.
History: Joanne has been working for the government in some way since she transferred to Earth. Joanne was given an identity as a college student and worked her way into the military, where she did independent studies of the human race secretively. She had some training as a Cybertronian medic and continued to pursue her interests in human form on Earth. She is quite young as far as pretenders go, but the Army and university have taught her a lot about the human side of the medical field. She is a qualified Paramedic and is an EMT on the sidelines.
Joanne has a fairly well rounded background for being an ‘ordinary’ young woman. She took some karate so she could defend herself from predators while maintaining her human appearance. It never bothered her much, all though deep down inside, she is in denial, and wishes that she can someday find someone she is meant to be with. Because of these troubles, Jo was never interested in relationships and didn’t see much of a point in them. To this day, she is still single. Many folk usually do not get much closer to her than a friend or acquaintance.
When she joined the enlisted, she spent a lot of time in the middle East without many knowing of what she really was, taking care of the wounded among the squadrons that went to go fight in the skirmishes that stirred up in the Middle East around 2010 to 2015. Her distant and serious side allowed her to deal with less loss and heartache when fellow allies got badly wounded or when someone she began to get close to go hurt. When she did get close to these men, they often began to miss-treat her, and when she saw these signs, she used a lot of force they didn’t anticipate to get them to stop and back off - it was only during these times that some of the humans might discover her true identity. For these reasons, she never allowed herself to get closer to many of the men.
During her free time in the Middle East when she transferred to the NEST base, Jo started to learn some basic mechanics, reacquiring some skills she had learned from others back on Cybertron. Now that she is a member of NEST as an officer - the Army equivalent of a Major, Jo wants is expanding her horizons and hopes to fine turn her skills under the best of the best in her free time with Jolt and Ratchet. However, the only authority she really has is with the humans.
