"Those things put all humans at a disadvantage." Abyss replied with a shrug, noting how Trevor put a hand over a shoulder. Hm, ghost pains, maybe? It was clearly done in remembrance of something. "I am nearing the end of my battle days though, I've been more interested in just odd jobs here and there. I seldom get tangled with my own kind any more. Call me old and cranky, but I just prefer it that way for now."

Trevor couldn’t help laughing softly at her last remark,”You old and cranky Abyss? Could have fooled me the way you can move, especially back what I saw in the bar I think you still got some fight left in you, least that’s my opinion.”He said while looking back up at the black femme, though she almost seemed to blend into the night. Abyss truly did seem a fitting name for her when she blended so well in darkness and at the same time he was finding her quite fascinating too. Strange how that happened. Trevor normally wasn’t one to warm up to someone so quickly like this, but Abyss and him just seemed to get along fine without a need for confrontation.
Looking back towards the city he just sighed,”Unfortunately I still have some years ahead of me before I can consider myself old and cranky. But there are times I wish my life had always been so easy as it use to be.”

Abyss sighed. "Well you know what I mean, old and cranky in the mind. And slightly weathered in the spirit. I'm not as old as some that live here, but I'm getting up there." she shrugged. "I'm basically a bit "out of date" like my alternate mode, but still alive and well. And yes, I know I can kick aft quite well. I never doubted myself there. It doesn't matter. As they said in a song 'how we survive is what makes us who we are'."

Trevor nodded his understanding, having guessed already that age seemed to be mostly of mentality for the Transformers, through experience and all. Not exactly that much different from humans at all, for them age truly was a number to a point but experience could make you seem far wiser then some of those who were older then yourself sometimes. "How true those lyrics are."He commented softly, thinking back to his days in his teens when things had been rough and he had to figure out how to survive his father's drunken rages.
Though the most difficult time had been when he was recovering from the gashes he had been inflicted with, though now they were just visible scars on his body. He had had to learn to be careful in was he stretched, how he moved his arm, how he moved altogether until the places had healed fully. But Trevor now had full function of his body again and those times were now but distant memories.

Abyss noted the tone in Trevor's response. Her receptors perked a bit at that, for the first time a little more curious about humans despite how long she'd been on Earth. Maybe she should ask for a partnership? Or maybe they should part ways and let fate do its thing. At this point she was debating about making the offer, but it didn't take her long. It was at least worth a shot to offer it.
Abyss liked to think she wasn't judging him, but their brief encounter said a lot, and she liked what she saw. "You and I could work well together. At the same time though, it is understandable if you prefer to stay solo. Good friends are hard to come by, but I would be pleased if you decided to pursue such a long term connection with me. I tend to not play well with others, but if it's a one on one thing and I like you, you're much better off." she offered, finalizing her statement with a brief smirk.

Abyss' offer caught the Marine off guard, as he would never expect someone like a Transformer to be offering a partnership. Trevor was somewhat shocked really but at the same time found it quite intriguing of what a long term connection with such an interesting being would be like, not to mention it'd really be the first partnership he had had in a long time. "Well long as we like each other think a long-term partnership sounds like an idea to me Abyss."He said with a slight smile of his own. "To be honest, you'd be my first really long-term anything in a long time so I'm looking quite forward to working with you."He told her honestly as he glanced up at her. "And I'd say we should shake on it but think we have a height problem for that."He said with a light hearted chuckle.
