She yanked her arm back when the whip flicked at it, as she was half-way expecting it. The whip instead hit her sword, which in turn smacked against his head, point side down. She wasn't applying quite the pressure to cut, but she did intentionally knock the smaller bot. Fortunately, her sword did not sense pain. She whipped it around behind her, carefully perching one her feet.
She couldn't care less about the bot's priorities right now. But there was one thing to get straight here. "All those Autobot stereotypes we've been referencing? Sure. Main group. But I'm not a part of that main group. Had it not been for my Trine and my Creators, I could have very, very easily been a Decepticon, easily been just like you. Difference is, I have something to live for. What do you have?" Her voice was a challenge, a dare to contradict. Her voice cold, her accent still faintly amusing when placed out of context, but slightly more threatening in, if only because she somehow made it sound dangerous with the odd word emphasis. The little freak was out of stings for a bit. She's figured that out. Two attacks. She assumed he had other weapons, but she didn't know about them, so she was fine. Another thing - he couldn't call a bluff.[/blockquote]

Jessica was shaking as she continued to cling to his hand. The roar made her flinch away, hearing it mixed with the crunching screech of metal. It was happening all over again, in her mind. The rain was pattering away in the back of her mind, the slipping of something wet slithered down the right side of her face, dripping down, but it was just her memory. She clung tighter to Whiplash’s hand and suddenly let out a shuddering breath. She awoke to the sound of Whiplash’s final words toward Firefly.
Well, not final, final, but something like that. She looked up and pulled back slightly from Firefly, the Seeker starting to scare her a bit. Her fingers twitched against his finger and her heart rate continued to climb. “Um, but if you have your siblings to live for…then why are you here, beyond curiosity? It’s almost Christmas,” she asked softly, her hands still convulsing against Whiplash’s finger.
Because she was really starting to scare Jessica.

Whiplash jerked as he was whapped with the flat of her sword. She hadn’t intended for the gesture to hurt, but the weapon was probably almost as big as Whiplash, and for a moment he was slightly stunned. He’d been tensed, though, and ready to take a hit, so he did not stumble or lose ground. The Decepticon quickly gathered his wits about himself once more. He straightened his posture somewhat, still stooping enough to allow Jessica to hold his hand, but straightened his other arm out, angling it up to point at Firefly.
The metal plates slid aside and the muzzle of a blaster slithered out, pointed right at the Seeker and ready to fire. It was not a heavy-duty weapon, and not something that Firefly probably feared, but the display was enough; Whiplash was game for a fight, even a futile one. The only reason he wasn’t leaping at her right now was because it would mean leaving his human unattended.
“You,” he hissed, “don’t know anything about me. Don’t pretend like you do, you slagger.” Under his battle-mask, his sharp mouthparts were clicking together in fury. Something that Firefly had said had hit some kind of nerve. “Get out of here and go somewhere you’re wanted, if you can find it.”
He completely ignored Jessica’s question towards the Seeker. He might not even have heard it, consumed as he was in his rage.

She was paying attention to the fight, but upon Jessica's inquiry... She was distracted. Not distracted enough to be friendly - the atmoshpere was fairly tense - but distracted enough to respond. "And what, may I ask, is 'Christmas'?" She didn't have much time to listen for an answer, though, as she let out an feral-sounding snarl, whipping her other blade out, jumping again in the air and, essentially, clapping the small bot between the two swords, careful to avoid his positioning of Jessica. She hoped this would tip him over, and that his own protectiveness of the human would keep her from hitting the ground. That was the goal, anyway. She didn't want to hurt Jessica. She didn't want to hurt the youngling, either, but she wasn't exactly flying until her wing got feeling back. Speaking of flight, instead of skidding against the ground like she'd intended, she over-compensated for the lack of feeling, overbalancing and, essentially, sprawling out into the parking lot. At least it wasn't the dirt. The dirt was evil. The friction of the fall, however, set her sensors to a cringing, alert, tingling pain as sparks flew. She wiggled her wing in frustration. She'd have to learn to fly without her wings, apparently.[/blockquote]

Jessica resisted the urge to wince as she was dragged a bit across the ground. However, she was clinging to his hand and she looked up at Firefly, trying not to freak out entirely. She nuzzled at Whiplash's hand, very carefully, as if she was trying to comfort him. From where she was looking up, she blinked a little, confused and feeling a little small. Her heart rate was also slowly climbing back up in slight fear. She suddenly wished, with everything that filled her entire being, that Firefly's family magically appeared.
"Christmas...Christmas is a time of forgiveness and family. There are other holidays too at this time, like Hanukkah. Both Christmas and Hanukkah have to do with miracles, but I'm not Jewish, so I don't know entirely what happens with Hanukkah. But Christmas have to do with happiness and joy and family. Of being together," she answered, quickly, fear forcing her words to be a mostly garbled jarble.
And then Seeker seemed to attack Whiplash. She tensed and readied herself for anything that might possibly happen.

Whiplash’s firing position left him less stable, and he stumbled slightly, nearly stepping on Jessica. He pulled her up, though, out of the way of his feet, and gave his head a little shake, stunned by the rattling blow. He didn’t stay stunned for long. He looked up, his fury so great that the only sound that came from him was a hydraulic hiss, a vented noise of pure, unfiltered rage--
--and then the Seeker fell.
Whiplash knew he shouldn’t leave the human, knew he should probably take this opportunity to slip off with her, but he was pissed, and instead he released Jessica, yanking his hand free, and charged straight for Firefly. He leaped directly onto the Seeker, anchoring himself with one claw and one of his tentacles (which was still dormant), pulling his blaster to bear and firing wildly at her shoulder joint, point-blank range.
He said nothing. He just attacked. He was laughably small, but persistent, and even if his weapon wasn’t terribly impressive, he would need to be pulled away from directly harming the join unless Firefly wanted some actual damage done to her. The tiny Cybertronian was releasing a high-pitched, warbling yowl of rage, which, while not especially intimidating, was a bit disturbing to hear from a supposedly-sentient creature.

Firefly's sensors screamed at her, and the sound she made was a faint echo of their pain, the scream dimmed by her own slightly drowned out mind, as she forced her other arm to move, grab one of her own double pistols, and shoot it toward whiplash. The sword, after all, would be awkward in this situation. Her aim wasn't very specific, but it was definitely at him. She had heard Jessica's response, and she was thinking about it - but really, now wasn't the time to focus on it. Her shoulder hurt.
But having family together seemed like such a nice idea. If only it were possible. She'd killed her parents. Ditched her siblings. Left her symbiot. No, there would be no Christmas for her. Besides. This pain was at the top of her mind at the moment.

Jessica pulled back slightly as she was nearly stepped on when Whiplash pulled her out of the way. She squeaked a bit as Whiplash then jerked his hand away and began to rush into the fight, leaving her defenseless on the ground. She muttered something and then let out a cry as she covered her ears with her hands, curling up on the ground to the best of her ability. She wasn't sure of what was happening, but that sound made her want to just curl up and die. She whimpered and curled up tighter into a ball, clinging to her head.
She shivered on the ground and found she couldn't move. She couldn't bring it in herself to drag herself away from the area. She just didn't have the strength, or the presence of mind to do so right now. She shivered and shook on the ground, hoping for it to be over soon.
"I really hope no one else joins this fight," she whimpered out.

Whiplash was quick, and as soon as he saw Firefly’s arm coming to bear with the pistol, he darted away, leaping off her body to strike at a different angle. The shot still glanced him, clanging off his thigh armor and fouling his landing; he hit the ground shoulder-first, but rolled to his feet almost immediately. The metal of his outer thigh was warped and a healthy chunk of it had been sheared away, but he wasn’t favoring the leg; if it hurt him, he hid it.
But one look into that over-bright visor would probably convince Firefly that Whiplash was simply beyond pain. There was no room in him for pain. He was too angry.
His dodge had put Firefly between him and Jessica, but the Seeker would have to choose between scooping up the girl and fending off Whiplash’s next assault. He ran parallel to her body, using both arm-blasters this time and aiming a barrage of shots at the nearest wing. He wasn’t seriously injuring, but he was harrying her, and it was probably damn annoying.

At this point, she let out a deep, rumbling growl, the intricate sensors in her sensitive wings screaming as she flipped herself, a very base manuever to kick Whiplash to the side, and hopefully build enough momentum to get to her feet. The large, basic motion was simple enough to allow a spot of focus into her holoform, which ran over to get Jess and move her out of the way, hopefully while Whiplash was distracted with the kick.
Crouching beside Jess, simulated gray-blue eyes tried to catch her attention. In a hushed voice, though it was slightly fast and frantic as the attention to the holoform was severely limited. "We're going to have to get you out of here. Jessica, will you allow me to move you?" She left herself much more open by doing this than she'd like, but she didn't want to squish this girl. She couldn't say she wasn't a murderer, but she could say she didn't want to be, and she could help in this matter, at this time.[/blockquote]

Jessica let out a yelp and ducked down close to the ground as the fight began to get more underway and actually a fight, not a battle of wits. Well, more like a battle of words, really, but still one of those things that just made her want to run except she couldn't.
"Whiplash, I am so haunting you if I die!" she called out before she clung to the ground, the growl that Firefly gave off scaring her more then Whiplash's. Mostly because it was louder and, consequently, as terrifying as Whiplash's growl, maybe even more so. She winced and tried to pull her legs farther from the fight when the form the seeker had conjoured rushed over to her.
"Yes, you have my permission," she answered simply and reached out to grab a hold of the holoform's shoulder so she could wrap her arms around the holoform's neck, already tensing her muscles to make herself lighter.
Well, tensing them as best she could when her muscles could barely work, but she was making do.

The kick connected, and because Firefly’s foot was probably almost as big as Whiplash, she sent the smaller mech flying. He hit the ground and bounced before he was able to halt his progress, digging his claws into the concrete and skidding to a stop on all fours, his tentacles lashing above him. He gave another wordless, hydraulic hiss of pure rage, his optics trained on Firefly. Some of his plates were scuffed and she'd dented his side, but he was simply too angry to pay attention to the pain. He looked as if he were getting ready to attack her again when movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention.
Of course! A trick! Immediately he shifted to his alt mode, engine roaring as he made a beeline across the pavement towards the two females. He had his tentacles deployed, ready to snatch Jess or to attack the holoform, whichever came first or was most convenient. He was watching out for Firefly, ready to dodge if she made a move, and when he was ten feet from the holoform, he shifted, rolling to keep his momentum, and leaped for her like an angry cat.

While Whiplash got himself re-oriented, she herself spun to her feet, bracing for the next attack. Unfortunately, she had halfway expected the attack on the holoform, and, by the time she caught him halfway at the two shapes, she braced to smack him out of the air. Grounders weren't meant to fly. As he dove, she popped her hand out slightly in front of his projectile path of motion, and, as he hit, she popped her hand back forcefully, relatively similar to a tennis racket hit.
Younglings shouldn't fly, either.
Her holoform nodded curtly before scooping up Jessica and, after making sure she herself was holding on, charged for cover. She'd fly, but a human shape was very, very limited.

Jessica looked over as Firefly reached out to smack him. She let out a strangled and startled cry of, "Whiplash!"
Her heart clenched and, even as she was lifted up by Firefly's holoform, she tried to reach for Whiplash. While, no, she wouldn't have been able to do anything, it was mostly the action. She wasn't even thinking about how her sudden switch would probably get Whiplash into more trouble, what with him having no self-preservation instinct, that he would use her struggling as a reason to fight.
Not that he seemed to need a reason to fight, but it was there. She tried to smack Firefly's holoform. "What is wrong with you two? Is this a Transformer thing or something?" she demanded, even as they went for cover.

Air rushed out of Whiplash’s vents as Firefly’s hand connected with him, but he did not cry out with any pain as the blow connected. He hit the ground, skidding and rolling, and for a moment his engine made a dry coughing sound, stalling. He was back on all fours in an instant, supporting himself with his long arms and the unusual positioning of his digitigrade legs. His vents frantically sucked in air to cool his battle-heated frame. He snarled defiance at Firefly. Though the blow had battered him a bit--his exoskeleton was scuffed and dented--but there was no one area of his body that had suffered significant damage.
Once again he ignored Firefly, making for the holoform that was now taking cover with Jessica. “Let her go!” he yowled angrily, “you slagger, your fight’s with me! I’m more’n enough for you!” It would not be particularly difficult for Firefly to swat at Whiplash again, but he would at least attempt to dodge this time.
It was clear by his outburst, however, that he had jumped to an incorrect conclusion. He had remembered Firefly’s threat, earlier, about the insignificance of both his and Jessica’s life, and obviously thought she was dragging the girl off to do away with her.
