RPer: Suburban Wulf (Chasm)
Character Type: Permanent
Name: Phayze
Nickname: None
Gender Identity: Mech
Approximate Age: Equivalent of a 25-year-old human
Alliance: Decepticons, deep-cover Autobot
Function/Job: Psychological warfare & Spec Ops
Height: 15.5 feet
Approximate Mass: 1.5 Metric Tons
Type of Cybertronian: Normal Cybertronian
Personality: Phayze, without his “mask” on, is a fun-loving, easy-going kind of mech. He enjoys a good joke, and will not hesitate to drop a prank on someone. His pranks tend to be the kinds that help boost morale, as being a psy-ops mech he recognizes the importance of morale. The pranks are harmless, and usually easy to clean up once done.
Undercover, Phayze becomes a completely different mech. He becomes ruthless and uncaring, almost like an evil version of Prowl. He will still have an interest in pranks, but they will be more destructive and annoying, sometimes even dangerous.
Due to spending pretty much the entire war undercover, Phayze has quite often forgotten which side he is actually on. He seems to be acting more and more like a true Decepticon, and is forgetting his Autobot life. As such, he can be highly unpredictable around either side, becoming suddenly violent around Autobots, or highly withdrawn and secretive around Decepticons.
Appearance: Phayze stands at approximately 15.5 feet in height, and has red armor with four light violet optics. The upper right optic was rendered non-functional early in his military career by a fight, and his severe distrust of the Decepticon medics, as well as a fear that they might dig around and find out he was a spy, kept him from getting it replaced, and it healed in a way that the optic would not work.
Alt Mode:
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Holoform/Human Form:
Faceclaim: Damian Lewis
Weapons: A changing variety of weapons, not all of them carried with him all the time. Most common weapons are an energon blade, nitrogen rifle, Bolas, and an extending spear, as these are the ones he has had the most training and experience with.
Abilities: None.
Strengths: Phayze has his own experience in psychology, which transfers to his work in psychological operations. He had never actually finished his schooling, so he is not a qualified psychologist, and his psychology is not geared towards mental health. Rather, it is geared towards morale, that of his side and the other side. Having spent time in both factions, he has a good start of an idea of how to work that in the advantage of the side he will remain on.
Weaknesses: Having chosen to not use only one or two types of weapons, preferring to be a JoaT with weapons, Phayze’s combat skills with each weapon are a bit less than they normally would be, since he has to keep up with practice on all of them. Even with the weapons he normally uses, his skills are lower than they normally would be.
Family: Unknown.
History: The start of Phayze’s life is a bit of a mystery, as he never talks about it. It can be guessed that he was a Spark spawned from the AllSpark, as he never spoke of having any creators at any point. He lived in the more middle-class area, not very rich, but not struggling to survive. He took life as it came, and worked on trying to further himself. Among friends, he loved to joke around and pull the occasional prank, and loved a good party.
When the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons started up, Phayze was quick to side himself with the Autobots, leaving his schooling quite early in the war to do so. He made his way into Spec. Ops., and put in a request for his first assignment; he wanted to get into the Decepticons to get information to the Autobots, by posing as a Decepticon. He used a dead drop method to leave what he was relaying. For Phayze, his biggest challenge was not getting killed by his own side. His cover was not one spread around, to reduce the chances of him getting found out, which meant to the whole rest of the Autobot army, he was just another ‘Con to shoot at.
Now, Phayze is facing a bit of a bigger problem. His drops had been becoming less and less frequent, before stopping completely around fifty Earth-years before his landing on Earth. His problem is one coming from the inside. Having been a part of the Decepticons for so long, and keeping up his cover of being one, he is starting to forget his mission, and forget that he is actually an Autobot. Unless he realizes this, and gets out of the Decepticons, he risks remaining a Decepticon for good.
Additional Info: Events of the time line will influence which side he remains on.
