Return of a Spark

Three years she had thought to be gone, to be dead and lost forever. Yet her body had lied within the research facility when discovering what lied in her body, the nanocells within surprisingly having been alive when she was discovered and taken to the facility instead of being buried. It was here that the nanocells had picked up an energy source, a substitute for a supply of energy that began to make use of it and began to change Andrea Kinsley Magnus. To some they had noticed this change but couldn't quite decipher to what was causing her body to turn into this pulsing ball of life.

This had gone on for three years and now the process was complete, a late night on the 20th of December, just a little before midnight. Now the process continued, making use of scraps of metal around the pulsing life mass, creating a laser core that protected the purple Spark as it pulsed with life, more parts being attracted towards it, even gaining spare use of the metal around the machines within the room. Slowly her new body was beginning to come to life, a beginning of a protoform shifting and changing, becoming what the one she loved was himself and unaware of the bonds in which had been faint were now stronger, inwardly giving off the sharp pulse that she was once more alive.

At last it was complete, her systems giving off a soft hum as they were activating for the first time and her optics opened, lighting up to a dark green. At first Andrea seemed shocked and confused, puzzled to where she was for a few moments before the memories of the car crash came back to her and she sat up quickly, crying out the names of her children, ones she thoughts she lost. Though she only knew she might have lost her older son, but her youngest son was another story she hoped to find out. Yet gazing around once more Andrea could only see what seemed a medical and examination room, monitors here and there, some watching her vitals and others having been for other things.

{"Alive...I'm alive somehow, but this place...I was suppose to be in a grave not some research facility! Oh my White Knight,my family...if you saw this..."}She thought to herself as she pushed herself off the table, ready to leave the place and return home but her first steps were hard ones, stumbling as she tried to stand and fairly shaky. It was like trying to learn to walk as an infant all over again. A couple times Andrea tried, finding herself becoming frustrated when she tried, the feelings filtering over the bonds with her family before relief followed when she could finally take a few first steps, one foot in front of the other until she was finally getting the hang of it.

Finally she could stand normal, taking a quick look to her form for a moment thinking of her mate and husband's nanoform, possibly this being the cybertronian protorform as she had been told. "Strange to be it myself now,"She mused for a moment before she looked around,"Now to get out of here."She said to herself and came towards the wall, tapping on it with her knuckles a few times to check if it was hollow. With a nod of self-reassurance she stepped back and took a running start, slamming right through the wall with little effort that caused her to stumble. Though an alarm sounded from inside and out, making Andrea gulp a bit as she heard yells from around the complex and making her quickly sprint towards the closest fenced off area.

Once more she plowed right through it, the fence merely falling since it couldn't stand the strength of someone her size. It really was odd and different, to be larger, stronger, and able to do things she wasn't use to. But for now she merely kept going, escaping the facility that was realizing what was going on a few minutes too late that allowed her to get away.

Hours later, close to around 4:30 did Andrea come across a road, ducking to make use of the little darkness left as she waited for a car to come by. She was going off instinct and knowledge from Magnus, thinking of the best vehicle form that she would use and thought of her blue Impalla. {"It would be perfect."}She thought and it seemed by some miracle one happened to be passing by, the same model as her old one and allowing her to scan it before she transformed, smiling inwardly. {"I'm coming home my love, just wait."}She thought as she began to feel the tug of her Spark, towards the way home of Tranquility and didn't waste any more time to speed onto the high way, racing down it towards the direction of her home.

[Derrick Magnus]

Derrick gasped and woke up, clutching his younger brother tightly to him as his gaze found the door. His Spark was pulsing fast, something was happening, a sense, a feeling, something he hadn't felt in a long time, a presence that was both strange yet familiar. He settled back, hoping not to wake Richard as he laid there trying to push the feeling away and go back to sleep. But the sensation continued to nag at him, and finally he just could not stand it anymore. Giving Richard a light kiss to the side of his head, Derrick carefully pulled himself free and climbed out of the bed, pulling on his jeans. He felt like he was going mad, completely unable to sit still any longer. He glanced back at Richard for a moment, not wanting to leave his younger brother, yet needing to move around he felt so restless. For the moment he just paced around the room a few times, hoping to get his nerves to settle as he rubbed the heel of his hand against the center of his chest, clearly deep in thought.

Whatever it was Derrick was feeling, Richard was feeling it too. He woke up after hearing his brother's startled gasp, though not as suddenly. He was rather alert most of the time, especially since the accident. He used to be a solid sleeper before his late teens, but now it was different. Now he was even more sensitive to what his brother felt, especially when they were in close proximities. //"What's going on?"\\ he asked via the sibling bond, his mental voice sounding a little tired and confused. He showed no indication of waking other than his now open eyes.

Derrick turned and looked over at Richard when he heard his younger brother speak through the bond. //"I didn't mean to wake you."\\ he replied apologetically and walked over to sit down on the bed, reaching over to rub Richard's shoulder and arm lightly. //"I just feel restless... something's happening but I... I can't put it together..."\\ he admitted. He could still feel the surge that was welling up within him, something oddly familiar yet felt so strange to him, something churning within his Spark. //"Richard, can you feel it? The churning in my Spark? Like something alive in there, trying to reach out... to... something... I don't know..."\\ he asked softly, bringing his other hand to his chest where a softly pulsing blue glow could just be seen in the dim light of the room. Derrick wondered if it was just him or if Richard was feeling the same thing too, and if he was feeling it, he wanted to know what it was that was causing it. Was it something to do with their bond to each other? Was it because of how close the two brothers had grown together? Was it something to do with their father, or perhaps were they starting to feel their uncle somehow? Whatever it was, it was making him very anxious and restless indeed.

[Richard Magnus]

//"Yeah I'm feeling it too,"\\ Richard replied, turning his head a bit to look over at Derrick as he felt a strange energy emanating from and within them. He noticed the faint glow and raised a pair of quizzical and confused eyebrows before looking at his own chest. //"Strange. It's certainly not something I recognize. What could it be?"\\ It had to come from someone in their family, there was simply no other possible explanation for the manner at which the energy was reaching out at them, right?

Derrick shook his head and sighed, his hand absently rubbing Richard's side as he sat there next to his brother in thought. //"I don't know... I really don't. I just... I can't figure out what it is..."\\ he replied softly over the bond, then looked down at his own slightly glowing chest. He could see his brother's chest glowing similarly to his own as well. He closed his eyes and shook his head again, then turned more towards Richard and gently pulled his younger brother into his arms to just hold him close. He was nervous about the sensation they both could feel, and the fact that his and Richard's Sparks had both brightened enough to show through their own flesh worried him greatly. He tried to push down his fears trying not to worry his brother an more than they both already were, so he remained quiet, just holding Richard trying to comfort both himself and his brother.

The last few days Optimus had had a hard time sleeping, trying to rest where he could but the feeling of his brother still slipping away was making him more restless and worried, actually feeling it for the first time in decades. That night he had tried to rest, using the couch since he had deactivated his form for the time being until his brother were to pass. But with no luck Optimus simply lied there on the couch, his eyes merely closed and listening to the silence of the house.

Until he sensed something, a new but strange signal catching his attention to which the Prime sat up and looked around as if to pinpoint where. But sensing the signal coming closer it concerned him for his recently found brother and nephews, worried a bit that this signal might be a hostile one. Getting up Optimus quietly but quickly went up stairs to check on the family, finding his brother asleep still then came to Richard's room, knocking softly before he peeked into the room, surprised to find the two boys awake and their sparks glowing.

"Richard? Derrick? Are you two sensing anything?"He asked quietly, now wondering if they were reacting to it or still feeling the affects of their father slipping away from them.

Andrea left the Nevada desert and the research facility far behind her by now, following the tug of her spark of where she felt her family, the bonds that she shared with them. But she was going mainly on the knowledge of what Magnus had taught her, knowing a little bit about the bonds between transformers such as the empathic bond she felt when she was human. But this one, it was stronger and she could feel two others, only able to guess it was something of a creation bond with their boys.

But she wasn't entirely sure until she would see all of them again.Though the drive to Tranquility took her some time Andrea finally saw the familiar city, her home, ahead and sped up slightly and ignoring the speed limit. Normally she would abide by them, even if she was a cybertronian now but she was too eager to return to her family and hopefully get things settled and see them. Three years was a long time and she could only imagine the pain the family was going through, she could sense it somehow in fact through the bonds and she could slowly feel her spark-mate slipping away.

When she did finally arrive Andrea had to pull off into a mostly empty parking lot, needing a short rest before she could go on. The drive had been long and she was feeling herself growing exhausted for pushing it already but she knew she couldn't be there long, which she didn't plan to be. So after a short twenty minutes she started her engine again and began the last stretch of her trip, once more reaching out through the bonds, feeling them much more then before.

"Y-yeah, our Sparks have never glowed like this before in reaction to something." Richard glanced up alertly to Optimus as he sensed his approach, his arms still around Derrick in comfort. The surprise of the emergence of a new feeling of life resonating in their Sparks was a strange one, but he welcomed the feeling. It seemed...natural. Like it had been there before, only even stronger now. "It feels like...how can I describe it, really? It seems like new energy, yet something familiar. It calls to us all, whatever it is. Where could it be coming from?"

Derrick hugged Richard close, looking over at Optimus' holoform as he looked in on them. "I feel restless, like something or someone is coming, but I don't know... the only ones we've ever been connected to, bonded to, are each other and Dad, though all of us had an empathic bond with mom before she died." he offered in response, remembering how it felt when she reached out to him. Then suddenly it hit him and his eyes went wide in shock. Was that his mother, Andrea? Did she somehow survive and is finally coming back to them? But it felt so different, so much stronger, like how strongly he felt his father and brother. "Mom?..." he whispered faintly, not daring to speak any louder for fear of shattering the hope that suddenly swelled his Spark to near bursting in his chest, and in that moment, the glow within his chest flared as if in answer to that single whispered plea.

He then suddenly pulled from his brother's arms and bolted for the door, pushing past Optimus' holoform and running down stairs in nothing but his jeans, heading straight for the front door in a near panicked flight as if desperate to get outside, despite the fact that his chest was still glowing visibly and would be seen if he went outside and anyone happened to be there. At that moment, he didn't care. He reached for the new yet familiar presence, calling to it, hoping, praying it was his lost mother, praying she had somehow come back to them to would save Magnus and end his agony and suffering at last. He began to wonder if she had been alive all this time and that was why his father lingered, withering, but still alive, as if waiting for her to return to them. Suddenly everything over the last three years fell into place, it all made sense as he yanked open the front door and ran out into the yard, turning towards the street as he ran past his slumbering father's vehicle form and his uncle's alt mode. He slowed and finally stopped about three houses down from his own, looking to the end of the street as he stood there barefoot and shirtless in the middle of the road, his hand on his chest, a look of desperate hope on his face as he searched the darkness, praying that what he felt was true.

"I'm not sure you two, this isn't something I've heard of before."Optimus said as he looked at the two brothers, actually looking quite puzzled at what was currently going on. Perhaps it was their mother? But how would she be alive when she had been killed in a car crash and was only a human? Maybe by some chance she had managed to recover and now they could feel her, but it was hard to really say. Though when Derrick suddenly pushed passed him the Prime turned watching him make a rush for the door and realized there was still the issue of his glowing spark.

"Derrick wait a moment!"He called hurrying after his nephew, trying to get to him before he could accidently be seen but was a little too late when the techno organic was already way ahead of him. But as Optimus was about the next house down he saw some headlights come from around the corner, faintly seeing the blue of a much smaller car and saw it rolling closer slowly, closer to his nephew. And what Optimus realized was the signal he had detected was coming from the very vehicle and he could only anxiously wait.

Finally after the hours of driving and miles she had had to cover Cobalt arrived to the familiar suburb, her headlights on so she could see and so she could find the right way to go. Inside she was excited and anxious, worry so much for her family and wondering if they had felt her reach out to them, but as soon as she thought about it one bond did seem to answer and she knew who it was. "Derrick..."She said softly, relief rushing over her knowing then that he was indeed safe, which could mean her youngest son Richard was also safe.

But she was still worrying for her spark-mate and husband, unsure of how he would react to knowing she was alive. Sighing deeply she took that final turn to where her home would be but soon as she did she noticed someone half naked in the street, a glowing light coming from the chest, something she was all too familiar with now since her time with her mate and sons. But someone was a little ways behind him, looking anxious but not as much as Andrea would have been. Slowly she drew closer, inside shaking with anticipation and wanting to cry so much when she realized it was Derrick standing there and having felt her close by. She was finally home.

Stopping short distance from her eldest Andrea's holo-form appeared outside the car, being the exact same as her human appearance and tears filled her eyes as she couldn't hold back as she ran to Derrick and hugged him tightly to her, truly relieved to see him. "I can't believe it...three years and it's true your safe Derrick."She said, one of the first thoughts had always been if he had been injured or killed in the accident but he was luckily neither.

Richard followed Optimus, maneuvering around his holoform easily and leaping down the staircase once he was about halfway down. He stopped short next to his brother as Optimus emerged and stared in utter shock and amazement at the holoform next to the cobalt blue vehicle. "Mom!" he didn't stand still for long as he bolted towards the holoform fearlessly to give her a big hug he could not resist, knowing the energy and strong pull they felt from her Spark was definitely family, and not Decepticon.

Derrick hugged his mother tightly, or at least the holoform that had appeared. It was strange that she was not human, and yet everything inside him told him this was indeed his mother. As his younger brother joined in the hug, he wrapped one arm around Richard to pull him close too, wanting to hold his entire family tightly. Somehow Andrea was alive and now was fully Cybertronian like their father. At this point, Derrick didn't care how or why, all he cared about was that his father was dying and desperately needed her. After several minutes in tears clutching his mother's holoform and his brother, he lifted his head and nuzzled her a moment before he could finally speak. "Dad's... not doing well... He's hurting, dying... He needs you, mom..." he murmured softly and tightened the hug, unwilling to let go just yet. Magnus' holoform was asleep and his true form was utterly dormant, which he relayed to her reflexively through the bond, along with the three years of torment they all had suffered without her. But he drowned out that pain with the joy he felt at having her back, knowing she would be able to save Magnus and heal his shattered Spark again. He then remembered Optimus and looked at her again. "I found dad's brother, he's here to help us..." he told her, then hesitated for a moment as he glanced to his brother, then to Optimus' holoform, then back to his mother again. "He... his name is Optimus... he's the Autobots' leader, mom... He and Dad are both Primes, probably the last ones of their race..." Then the implications of that realization hit him and he shivered, laying his head on Andrea's shoulder as he tightened his arms around her and Richard, afraid of what would happen if the Decepticons found out about them.

Andrea's smile brightened even more at seeing Richard, over joyed knowing both her sons were well and being able to see them made much of her worry disappear. Putting another arm around her youngest son she held them tightly in the hug, tears going down her face from happiness and relief in knowing they hadn't been harmed, least not physically. It still saddened her she couldn't have been there for those three years, to see them grow as she always had before the accident. But she now had that chance again.

But when Derrick mentioned and showed their dying father and her husband/spark-mate Andrea's sadness remained, growing more into concern and worry. He was still alive but it wouldn't be for long."I'll have to get to him a lot sooner then I thought but it was hard to tell from such a distance..."She said softly holding back more tears of the thought of losing the one she loved so much. But Andrea hid it behind curiosity as she peered at Optimus, smiling a bit when she noticed the Prime seemed quite shocked and happy.

"Optimus Prime, I've heard so much about you from Robert, well Magnus as you know him as. He really missed you, more then he could possibly put into words but it's nice to finally meet you."She said with a smile.
