Jared never went too far from the base unless he was with someone. As it was, he wasn't that far now. He was simply taking some time to explore a little bit whilst his father was away. There was an abandoned facility quite close to the Autobot base. It used to be a storage building, but it hadn't been used in some time. Remarkably, though, there was quite a lot that's been left behind. It fascinated the young boy, and it made him curious; maybe he could use some of this stuff in any upcoming projects. It wasn't like it was going to be doing anything else, after all. And hey, if he ran into trouble, it wasn't too far to run home.
So he rummaged through the facility, picking up various pieces and mulling over what they might be able to do. Eventually he sat on a nearby desk and shuffled through some old blueprints. He couldn't quite work out what they were meant for, since they seemed pretty old and not very well kept, but he could make out some words and a few diagrams. It looked interesting, whatever it was.
Maybe he could take it back with him. It'd be fun trying to decipher whatever it was that was being worked on in this place, and when the documents had been created.

Terri was lost. Very lost. She was lost to the point that she wasn't even sure where to begin in attempting to locate where she was. She wasn't even sure how she'd gotten here, wherever "here" was. Carefully, she made her way through the halls, trying to find something that might clue her in.
A noise from one of the rooms caught her attention, and she very carefully peered in, keeping to her alternate, and original, form, just in case it happened to be GLaDOS. It wasn't though. It was a boy. Terri knew that, remembering some of the few people she'd seen in the facility. "Hello?" She called quietly.

Jared raised his head at the sound of the voice, and glanced in the general direction that it had come from, only to find a small, oval looking robot with three legs and a bright red eye. That didn't look like any normal Cybertronian to him. Maybe it was something that he hadn't heard of just yet? Whatever it was, by the sound of its voice it was scared. He could help it.
"Hi." Jared replied, jumping down off the desk and approaching the robot cautiously. "Who are you? What are you doing here? Are you lost?" Maybe it was a symbiont of one of the Autobots, so he would have to return it to the base. That wouldn't be too much trouble. But wait, that was a red eye. Could this be a Decepticon? It didn't seem too dangerous...

Terri skittered back when the boy jumped off the desk, still nervous about the possibility of GLaDOS. "Lost? Yes, I'm lost." There hadn't been any sign of GLaDOS, so maybe it was safe, especially if this boy was here. She transformed, feeling better supporting herself on four legs instead of three. "I'm different..."

Jared could certainly relate to that. He was pretty different too, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. "It's okay, I won't hurt you." He told the small robot, stopping his approach so that he didn't frighten her - it sounded like a her - any more. So she was lost. Well, he couldn't go too far from the base, but he could at least try to help. "I can help you try and find your way home if you want. I can even get my Dad to help. He's a nice person. I'm sure he won't mind." Jared suggested with a light shrug and a smile. His father would be able to work out where this robot was from, surely? It might take a while, but they'd figure something out.

Terri shook her head at the mention of going home. "I don't want to go home. She will experiment on me, because I'm different." Tentatively, she stepped closer to the boy, feeling like she could trust him. "Could I come home with you?"

She? Who was she? Had this robot been hurt? Jared definitely didn't want to send her home if that was the case. It didn't sound like she had a very nice carer. But could she come home with him? Would his father mind? It'd be nice to have another friend around the base. "Well, we'll have to talk about it to my Dad, but I'm sure he'll be okay with you staying." He decided, holding out his hand for her to come closer so he could lead her back to the base. "Oh, I'm Jared, by the way. It's nice to meet you." She seemed nice enough, after all.

Terri smiled, bright blue optics filled with excitement and hope. "Hurray!" She giggled, hopping a bit before skittering over to Jared, taking his hand. "Nice to meet you too! I'm...I'm Terri!" She giggled, feeling a tad embarrassed about her name. Considering she was a turret, "Terri" hadn't been very original, but she'd liked the sound of it.

"Terri? That's a cool name." Jared told her with an honest smile, taking her hand and leading her back towards the base. "I should tell you, though. I live with a lot of family members and they're kind of... tall. But they won't hurt you, I promise! They're all really nice, including my Dad. He's good with mechanics. He and I are building a lot of stuff together." He told her as they walked, the base thankfully not too far away. Hopefully his father would be around for him to introduce Terri. He had to get his parent's approval before anything could happen.

"I have a big family too." Terri replied, giggling again. "There's lots of us, and She is always making more, because we're needed for the testing. I'm used to others who are bigger than me." She walked carefully, not wanting to fall over. She knew what could happen if she fell over...

"Who's 'She', by the way?" Jared asked, as they made it onto the runway and headed for the building that would lead down into the Autobot rooms, including his Dad's lab. "I mean, it's okay if you don't want to talk about it. I just wondered." He knew that some topics weren't easily discussed from experience, so he wouldn't push her if it made her uncomfortable, yet he had to somehow keep Terri safe from this 'She' just in case she came around and tried to take her away. Neither of them would like that.

Terri looked around a little at Jared's question before finally answering. "GLaDOS." She finally replied with a shudder. "She runs Aperture Science. It's almost completely gone now, save for what she has. It wasn't always like that, though, long ago..."

"Aperture Science? I haven't heard of it." Jared commented. It sure seemed like an advanced organization, though, if it was able to create something like this. They were inside one of the main buildings now, heading down and moving through the hallways below ground, to where they would eventually find his father's lab. He pushed the smaller, human sized door open and moved inside. "Dad?" He called.

Wheeljack was standing at his work table as per usual, tinkering with yet another of his endless stream of projects. Hearing Jared call out to him, he turned and looked over at his youngest son with a smile. "Well, there you are. Did you have fun on your excursion?" he asked, knowing Jared would have called to him over the bond if anything bad had happened, and the eighteen foot Autobot crouched down and extended a hand towards Jared so he could climb up. That was when he noticed the tiny bot that was with him. "Whatcha got there? You find a new little friend?" he asked, tilting his head slightly to look at the much smaller bot.

Terri let out a squeak of fear when the large bot stepped closer and crouched down, releasing Jared's hand and scrambling backwards. "Ah! He's like her!" She exclaimed, transforming into her alternate mode. The two panels on her sides popped open, and a red beam emitted from the large red optic, pointed at the white and blue bot. "Preparing to dispense product."
