RPer: Suburban Wulf (Chasm)
Character Type: Permanent
Name: U.S.S. Strawberry; birth name Emily Smith
Nickname: Berry
Gender Identity: Female
Approximate Age: 10 years old
Alliance: NEST Naval
Function/Job: Mobile Base
Height: N/A
Approximate Mass: Really freaking big
Cybertronian Type: Shellperson
Personality: Berry is a very kind-hearted individual. Despite her condition, she finds humans very easy to get along with, and humans are typically able to get along with her. Her existence as the base that many people live on puts her in a mother-like position and mentality. She cares deeply for each of the humans stationed on her, and will mourn when one dies, or keep in touch when one leaves.
Berry also has a different way of thinking than humans, and while she has studied the different cultures, she does not understand how to apply what she has learned to real life. This, combined with the fact that she is young, by both human and Cybertronian standards, can sometimes make her a little awkward when interacting with others, especially those she is meeting for the first time.
Berry is inquisitive and curious, personality traits fitting for someone her age. Even through the Internet, she still finds subjects that puzzle her, and she will not hesitate to ask about them. At the same time, she shows a much higher level of maturity than even most adults. Referring to adults as “grown-ups” will confuse her, as she considers herself “grown-up.”
Berry has never experienced high levels of emotion, so it is unknown how she will take circumstances that would cause extreme emotions.

Holoform/Human Form: Berry uses two different holoforms, both of them very similar to one another. The more commonly used holoform is that of a woman in her late 30’s, early 40’s, wearing a Navy Officer uniform, bearing the rank of a one-star Admiral. Her hair is a light strawberry blonde, and her eyes are a bright sea green. Her hair is pulled back into a bun, as per military regulations.
Her second holoform is a much younger version of her normal one, she is 10 years old. In fact, her second holoform is what she would have looked like had she been born without any of the defects. Her eyes and hair are both the same color, except her hair is worn loosely, held out of her face by a couple of hair clips. She typically wears a t-shirt and shorts with sandals, and can be seen carrying a stuffed ferret. That is, of course, when she allows others to see it.
Weapons: 2 Navy rail guns, 5 anti-aircraft cannons, 20 sabot-round machine guns along her longer, outer edges, on top and underneath (total of 40), interior non-lethal wall and ceiling security turrets, and several carrier-based missiles. Not under her direct control are the fighter planes and pilots based on her.
Abilities: None
Strengths: Berry, as a mobile base, is more than equipped to defend herself and the humans living on her from most threats. This, along with her defensive armoring, can make her be considered one of the most secure bases on Earth. Created by a mix of human technology and various pieces of technology from the Iceman project, there aren’t many weapons that can cause significant damage to Berry.
Weaknesses: As a shell person, Berry is not, in full truth, the ship. Within the central area is the column that contains her true “body,” a metal sphere with ports for various wire and sensory attachments. Disconnected from the ship, Berry has no control over it, and has no way to defend herself. A switch at the back of the sphere controls the emergency sensory input. Flipping it plunges Berry into total sensory deprivation. It was originally meant to aid in the connecting process when Berry was first hooked up to the carrier, but remaining in that state for long periods of time can cause severe, irreversible mental and psychological damage.
Family: Prof. Smith, Rodgers; father. Smith, Natasha; mother.
History: Emily was born in the autumn, ten years after the battle at Mission City. She was born with severe physical defects caused by the resurfacing of several different latent genetic codes. The defects denied her the ability to survive without machine help. Her father, a scientist and professor who had worked on the Iceman project, was determined to find a way for his daughter to have a chance to truly “live.” He started what he would later call the “Shellperson Project,” and within a year he and his assistants had the first step done.
It was a spherical “shell” that was filled with fluid to support Emily, and had various connections, as well as a special breathing and feeding apparatus. Primitive optical and auditory sensors, as well as a vocal component, were hooked up, and Emily was transferred into her new body.
Her brain, still being young, was quick to adapt to the new body, and she was able to utilize brain functions that kids her age were still working on being able to use. By allowing her access to the Internet, as well as giving her tutors, Emily, now called “Strawberry,” was taking high school level classes by her third birthday.
It was not long after her third birthday that NEST found out about Berry’s existence. To her father’s relief, they were interested in helping with the project. An agreement to get Berry a larger, more permanent body was made. NEST had been developing a modified aircraft carrier to support an AI system, but development on the system had fallen through. The agreement was that NEST would modify the carrier to support Berry, in exchange for a period of service where her pay would equal the cost of her new body. The decision was left to Berry, who agreed.
On Berry’s ninth birthday, she was hooked up to her completed body. Everything worked just fine, though her father insisted that she receive periodic check-ups. For the first year, it was every 1-2 weeks, which mean that her father was flown out in order to conduct the inspection and maintenance. Now, the time is 1-2 months, with her father still coming out.
Currently, Berry is continuing her service to NEST as a mobile base. She has not met with any of the Transformers on Earth, but has read about them on the Internet, and would like to meet them.
Additional Info: Berry is not an actual Transformer, though it is quite possible she will change to one later. If/when this should occur, an updated bio will be posted in the thread.
