(This is my first character attempt for this forum, and an attempted crossover character from TF:Prime. I've tried to make him work in this continuity. If there's anything that needs to be changed, let me know, and I'll be happy to oblige! :] )
RPer: Spinback
Character type: Permanent
Name: Blindspot
Nicknames: ‘Spot, “You there, drone!”
Gender Identity: Mech
Approx age: Merely 472 years; however, Blindspot is physically and mentally mature, as he is a clone.
Alliance: Decepticon
Function/Job: Courier, Field Medic, World-Class-Pain-in-Autobot-Aft
Height: 19 feet
Approx mass: .9 metric tons (If you ask him, he'll round it up to a ton.)
Cybertronian type: Normal Cybertronian
Personality: Blindspot is a bit of an odd duck. The first thing anyone notices about him is that he is quiet. He is not inclined to speak unless he is spoken to. The second thing anyone might notice about Blindspot is that, once you do get him taking, it is very, very difficult to get him to shut up again. He is eloquent and polite, with a soft, rasping voice and a tendency to veer towards flowery, almost grandiose language.
He is very calm and unusually passive for a Decepticon, but he is intensely, even zealously loyal to the Decepticon cause. He firmly believes that Megatron is the only hope for the continued survival of the Cybertronian race. Their world is dead, and if their only choice for forging ahead is meddling in the affairs of inferior aliens (humans), then so be it. He firmly hates humans, thinking them disgusting little vermin. The thought of them capturing and imprisoning his glorious Lord only further lowers them in Spot’s mind.
He does not, however, hate the opposition. He does not want the Autobots dead. Rather, he would prefer to see the remaining Autobot forces surrender and join the Decepticon ranks. He is unsure whether or not his Lord intends to let this happen, and if Megatron says it is not to be, then surely he has some reason beyond Blindspot’s grasp. Still, it would make more sense from a strictly biological standpoint to leave more Cybertronians alive than dead at the end of all of this.
Blindspot’s greatest attribute is his intelligence. He is prodigiously intelligent, a downright genius, if inclined to be a bit on the eccentric side. He has a particular passion for science, especially as it applies to the Cybertronian body. He has devoured every available text on Cybertronian anatomy and theoretical medicine, and over the course of his career has shaped himself into a fine field medic. His specialty is reaching wounded mechs on the battlefield and stabilizing them long enough to be returned to the Decepticons’ official CMO.
He hasn’t limited his studies to strictly medicine, though. Anything scientific sparks his interest. In his explorations, he has been known to do a bit of self-experimentation, such as altering his frame to be lighter and faster. This sort of weirdness has earned him something of a reputation as a creepy mech among his peers. Those who spend extended periods of time around ‘Spot soon realize that he’s harmless, though.
This leads us to his greatest failing: he is, down to the very depths of his spark, distressingly gentle. He doesn’t pick fights, doesn’t throw his weight around, and doesn’t aggressively hunt his Autobot enemies. The killer instinct simply isn’t in him. Blindspot’s quietness and his reputation as a vaguely creepy mech have left him more or less alone for most of his (thus far) short life, but he does not seem to mind. He is happy enough to be left with his texts and his experiments.
Despite his loner tendencies, he is not averse to company. He is open and companionable enough, but somewhat socially stunted--he can be remarkably dense in social situations. Hinting obliquely will get you nowhere with Blindspot. If you want something from him, you have to be frank. Heck, sometimes you’ll need to just grab him by his shoulders and flat-out tell him what it is.
He probably would have been culled long ago if he wasn’t useful. Aside from his intellect, he has a few other tricks up his sleeve that have kept him alive in the Decepticon ranks, but those have little to do with his personality.
Pros: Spot is unquestionably loyal to his leaders. He is extremely intelligent (as far as academic subjects go) and a quick learner. He is easy to get along with, as well as properly obedient and submissive to his superiors (up to, of course, a point). He is very determined and brave on the battlefield, even if his role is mostly non-combatative. He can be good company, and would make a loyal and considerate (if occasionally socially dense) friend.
Cons: Blindspot is socially awkward and not self-conscious enough to care that he sometimes creeps other Cybertronians out. His loyalty and passive nature could get him into bad situations if he falls under the authority of someone who doesn’t have his best interests in mind. His innate lack of aggression doesn’t suit his position in the Decepticon ranks. His inability to pick up on subtlety can ruin his chance to form relationships. His blind loyalty to his faction can blind him to potential problems among the ranks.
Appearance: Blindspot is based off a Vehicon Drone from the Transformers Prime series. A visual reference:
LOOK AT THAT AWESOME POSE. That is a pose you will probably never see Blindspot making, because he is not awesome.
Click for an additional reference! The pic’s a little big, so I linked it.
Basically, he looks like that--a tall, slender mech comprised mostly of dark purple, very angular plates. His face is a smooth, largely featureless mask that does not portray emotion well, slashed by a red optic visor. His audials are located just under the slender horn-like projections on either side of his head. He’s a little slimmer than pictured here, having altered himself to increase his speed and maneuverability. He does not possess a mouth, so he takes in his energon via a hookup on the left side of his neck (it would be his right), just under his jaw.
His tires form his shoulders and his “calves”; his shoulders are set very high, and he has very long arms tipped with long, wicked-looking talons. His hands are not made for delicate scientific work, and Blindspot knows and regrets it.
Alt mode: Though his robot mode is pretty nondescript, Blindspot has one heck of a sweet alt mode. He is an angular, low-slung sports car. The paint is a purple color so dark it looks black in the right lights. There are some interesting glowing accents scattered about the frame, giving it an exotic and overall expensive look. The windows are tinted night-black, revealing nothing inside, and the whole package is tied off with a stylin’ spoiler.
His license plate reads: HURRYUP
Holoform: Blindspot does not currently have a holoform; he has the ability to produce one, but he has simply never needed to. Also, he hates humans and is disgusted by them, so if he were to choose a holoform, he’d almost certainly want one of a different bipedal alien race, and those seem to be in short supply on Earth.
Weapons: Blindspot possess a modest Blaster that he can deploy over either arm, but he’s nerfed the power output to these, redirecting it to those responsible for powering his engine and making him faster. So, they’re pretty wimpy little pew-pew guns, more for show than anything else. His most useful tools on the battlefield are not these, but rather, a very unusual ability he possesses…
Abilities: Some time early in his existence, Blindspot was shot by an Autobot and wounded in a most unusual manner. The wound is deep, and has not been wholly healed by his self-repair systems. It has damaged his vocal processor, reducing his voice to a thin rasp (which doesn’t do much to convince everyone that he’s not creepy) laced with bursts of static. At first he thought that this was just a minor inconvenience, but an accident on the battlefield showed him that he had been altered in a way he did not know how to explain.
He does not know if it is the wound itself or the way the damage has healed, but he found that he had the ability to activate a sonic-based scrambler on the battlefield. Experimentation enabled him to augment these results. He still does not know how it works, and probably won’t unless he submits himself for a full dissection, but he can still make use of it.
Blindspot’s Sonic Scrambler works best in alt mode, but he can activate it in robot mode, as well. It causes his outline to blur wildly, and scrambles the targeting systems of any would-be attacker as long as the systems are directed at him. The longer that Blindspot keeps his scrambler running, the more intense the effects of the scrambler are.
However, there is a catch: prolonged use of the scrambler causes Blindspot pain. This grows from a dull ache after about forty-five minutes to a spark-deep, agonizing wrench when he reaches an hour and a half. For this reason, he cannot keep this up over prolonged chases, and prefers to use his scrambler in bursts. The wound also causes is engine to make an unusual clattering sound that more or less eliminates any sort of stealthiness.
Strengths: Blindspot is extremely fast due to his own modifications, and quite maneuverable. This, combined with his Sonic Scrambler, make him very hard to hit. He uses these abilities to weave through enemy lines to reach a wounded mech, or possibly to evade capture when he is being sent out as a scout.
He loves running rings around those ridiculous Autobots, and can get carried away and a bit showoffish. He works best when paired with slower, heavier-hitting mechs, where he acts as a distraction.
Weaknesses: In order to make himself faster, he has made his plating thinner and his chassis much, much lighter. He can’t take very many hits. He’s also kind of a wimp physically--you won’t see Blindspot winning any Decepticon-sponsored wrestling matches anytime soon. Basically, if he is caught, that’s the beginning and the end of the fight. He will always attempt to evade his foe rather than engage them, and only fight when he has absolutely no other choice.
Family: None, unless a few of his clone-batch remain.
History: Blindspot was part of a batch of experimental clones created to use as disposable troops during the search for Megatron. In the beginning, all he had was his serial number (VC-207), but that was all he needed. He knew what his purpose was, and he was happy to follow it and serve his leaders. There was nothing unusual about Blindspot at first--he was perhaps quieter than his fellows, but nobody expected them to last long, anyway, so who cared?
The ranks thinned, and soon the only remaining clones were the toughest and strongest of the group… except for Blindspot. He was naturally agile and clearly a quick thinker, and that was his claim to survival. He didn’t receive his name until after he was wounded and he discovered his scrambling ability. One of his clone brethren told him that he was “a moving blind spot” and the nickname stuck. The clone in question was killed later, and his death hit Blindspot hard. That clone was the closest thing he’d had to a friend… a brother, even. The already-quiet mech became more silent and withdrawn.
After that, he took to researching as a distraction, and soon discovered a passion for it. He read every scrap of Cybertronian data that he could get his hands on, learning everything he could, and it was during this time that he discovered his passion for science. Blindspot has never looked back. Now that the Decepticon ranks have swelled, he seems to have passed the trial that killed off most of his clone-brothers, and, for better or for worse, Blindspot is here to stay.
Additional information: TIME FOR RANDOM FACTS ABOUT BLINDSPOT!
-He loves horses. He thinks they’re swell.
-Blindspot is not terribly romantic, but he is open to relationships with either femmes or mechs (though he does have a tendency to get shy around femmes). He is also open to polyamorous relationships.
-Blindspot is, most of the time, quiet and bookish, but when he gets his tires on the asphalt, it’s on. He loves to race, and to drive, even if he has nowhere to go.
-He enjoys Cybertronian music, but has lately developed a taste for Earth music, as well. He enjoys instrumental music mostly, but has lately developed a fondness for human choir music.
-Blindspot was created by artificial means, and as such as a "Created" Spark; his spark is pale amber, with a slightly irregular beat.

RP Sample:
The first rule of running reconnaissance was, “Don’t get spotted.”
Blindspot had been spotted.
He couldn’t bring himself to regret it, though. He didn’t know the name of the Autobot roaring in pursuit after him, but he could already tell that he was no match for the Decepticon’s speed. Unless they had some sort of sophisticated ambush waiting for him that he had failed to notice on his first pass through this night-drenched city, he was going to escape from this mess with no problem. The city around them was a succession of smeary neon blurs in the dark, and once they cleared it, nothing but the broad flat desert beyond waited them. This guy would never catch Blindspot on open ground.
Still, he thought to himself as he took a sharp turn, tires locked and shuddering, screeching and kicking up dust as he drifted effortlessly, there’s no harm in having a little fun in the chase. He ignored the exit that would lead them from the city and veered back towards the looming bulk of the buildings. He wasn’t due back at base for another two hours. There was plenty of time for a night-drive.
