Wheeljack nodded in agreement and looked around a bit, thinking. ~"Fireflight, there's two things you need to do first thing though. Over there are air craft you can have a look at and scan for an Earth based alt mode for camouflage. Second, you need to download the dominant languages of this world, mainly the one called English. Most of our human allies speak it and it will allow you to communicate with our friends here more easily. I have a full language pack I can upload to you that you can then send through your bond to the others."~ he offered, letting a cyber tendril slither out from his forearm and offered it towards where Fireflight's own cyber tendril was housed in his arm as he smiled softly at his treasured son. ~"A lot has happened to me since I've been separated from all of you, and some of it I need you and your brothers to see and understand."~

~"Okay!"~ Fireflight chirped excitedly in reply, sitting back down and holding his arm out to allow his cyber tendril to extend towards Wheeljack's. As he dd that, he looked around, spotting the different aircraft. He looked for one that matched his weight closely, and spotted one. It was an older jet that was on display, and F-4 Phantom II. Once the language packet had transfered, Fireflight would scan the jet and adapt it to his frame.

Wheeljack connected his tendril to Fireflight's and sent the English language data packet, along with his meeting and interaction with Victoria Marcus and what had happened with that encounter. He also sent Fireflight details on the humans who were allied to the Autobots and their command structure, as well as a list of what Autobots were on Earth at the moment and where they all fit in the command structure and the bases they maintained on Earth itself. In that was also a detailed map of the Autobot DC base, above and below ground. Once Fireflight had all the information he needed, Wheeljack disconnected the tendrils and stepped back to give Fireflight the room he needed to scan and transform into his new alt mode, smiling proudly at his young son. ~"Don't forget to send the data to your brothers, Fireflight, they need that data too."~ he urged gently to remind the easily distracted young mech. He knew his sons well, and knew how to handle each one.

Once Wheeljack had disconnected and stepped away, Fireflight transformed, changing his alt's colors to match his original red and white, then transformed back into his robot mode. "Got it!" He replied cheerfully in English as he sent the information along the bond to his brothers.
"Oh yeah!" He suddenly spoke up in excitement. "I almost forgot! I met Soundwave right before I commed you! He's not as scary as everyone thinks he is! I mean, I was really scared at first, but he was actually really nice, and he let me go!"

Wheeljacik blinked in surprise at this sudden new bit of unexpected information. He then stepped close and lowered his voice. "What the slag're you talking about? Soundwave found you, then let ya go?" he asked in a very startled and confused tone, keeping his voice low. "What happened to you up there?" he added, resting a hand on Fireflight's arm, clearly worried about his son.

"Well, I was making my way here, like all five of us had agreed to," Fireflight started, finding no reason to state who the "five of us" were. "And I didn't know that Soundwave was around or anything, and I thought that Earth looked really cool from space, so I slowed down and transformed to get a look at it. Well, I guess Soundwave had spotted me earlier, or I'd just happened to drift by him, because he jumped on me and held on with a bunch of cyber tendrils, I didn't know that bots could have that many, and he went into my neural core and cut all my motor functions and comms and stuff. Then, he started going through my memories, at least it felt like it, and he found out about me and 'Bolt and 'Dive and 'Sling and 'Raid, and I think you too, and that the others and me are a gestalt. Well, then Superion showed up in my head, or at least part of him, I think, and he was really mad at Soundwave. I think he talked to Soundwave, I don't remember...
"So, when Superion was all done I could hear Soundwave talking about his family and why he joined Megatron, and he felt like he was wrong in doing so. I think he wants to get away, but he doesn't know how. But then he let me go, and he unfroze my motor functions and transformation and stuff so I could come here!"

Wheeljack listened intently to what Fireflight told him of the incident, at first horrified that his innocent young son was captured by a Decepticon who was known to be every bit as horrifying in what he did as Megatron was, and was the Decepticon warlord's most loyal follower. But as Fireflight continued his story, it quickly became clear that Soundwave was either vastly underestimated, or terribly misunderstood. He reached up to touch Fireflight's head then, worried about his son, wondering if his neural core had been tampered with, or worse. "He didn't hurt you inside, did he?" he asked softly, clearly afraid of losing one of his little ones, though the Aerialbots were physically not so little. "What did he want with you? N why did he just let you go?" he added, wondering what nefarious purpose Soundwave, or Megatron for that matter, had in store for Wheeljack's cherished sons.

Fireflight shook his head. "He just entered in, and he looked through memories and stuff, and talked with Superion, then he left." He responded. "He did say that he was trying to survive, but he also said that he would sacrifice himself for his family's survival. I don't think he was lying, dad. He asked Superion for help." Fireflight, with his single encounter with the feared Decepticon communications officer, had no reason to believe that Soundwave had ill intent. It would have been easy for him to strike a blow at both the Aerialbot gestalt and Wheeljack by killing Fireflight, or taking him to Megatron, but he hadn't.

Wheeljack nodded a bit, lowering his gaze in thought, then looked back to Fireflight. "I'd still like to run a neural scan on you, just in case. I don't trust Decepticons n I trust Soundwave even less. But... if... if what you're telling me is true... maybe we all fell into the rumors and believed the wrong things about him..." he offered thoughtfully, though he wasn't ready to just welcome the dark mech with open arms yet, he was beginning to find himself willing to offer Soundwave a chance to redeem himself, if that were even possible for such a hated and feared mech as Soundwave.
The thought of those stories of what the Decepticon Communications Officer could do made Wheeljack shudder involuntarilly. Such things were what nightmares were made of; to have one's entire neural system stripped bare from the inside or completely reprogrammed, or having one's very Spark captured and enslaved to feed Soundwave's sonic cannons, slowly dying, screaming as the Energon was siphoned off bit by bit, those screams echoing in the very sound of the cannon fire itself, trapped and facing oblivion, never to find your way to Primus and the Great Spark. How much of that was real and how much was just rumors meant to frighten others, Wheeljack had no idea. The fact that the very nightmare himself had Fireflight in his grasp still horrified him and he hugged his son tightly again.
"Come on, let's get you checked out n make sure you're okay." he said softly and stepped back, taking Fireflight's hand to lead the young mech to his lab. He was determined to give his son a thorough examination, just to make sure he was intact and unharmed by the encounter, or anything else for that matter. The other four would be there soon and he prayed to Primus Soundwave would not intercept them, that he would just let his sons come to him unharmed. It was clear Wheeljack was scared for his Sparklings, but at the moment, there was not much he or anyone else could do but hope and pray his family would be reunited at last and that everyone was okay.

"Alright." Fireflight responded, following Wheeljack's lead as he walked with his father. "Dad, where did all the stories about Soundwave come from?" He asked as they walked. "Was it because of stuff that other bots had seen?" Despite his young age and easily-distracted attention span, Fireflight was intelligent, and his favorite way to figure things out was to ask a lot of questions.

Wheeljack thought about that for a moment. In all honesty he really didn't have an answer, but he had suspicions. "I don't know. I think at least some of it had been seen by others, but what was witnessed and what is conjecture I have no idea. Some of it could have been seen and mistook for something it wasn't too. That's always a possibility." he replied with a shrug. "I'm fairly certain no bot can keep a spark from returning to Primus, but the fear is there none the less." he added. All Cybertronians feared not being able to return to their creator, the source, that was just instinct. But if such a return could be prevented, even if only implied, that thought was terrifying. It meant they would never be one with the others again, isolated in darkness, silence, and eternal agony, or worse, cease to exist entirely.

"Oh. Okay." Fireflight allowed himself to get lost in his own thought as he followed Wheeljack. Where had all the stories come from? What had Soundwave done to give the stories substance? Was he really all that bad? What did he need the Aerialbots' help for? What was he planning to do?
Fireflight got completely lost in his own thoughts, moving forward only through the use of "auto-pilot." The gentle pull on his hand to lead him was all that kept him from walking into something, though he was still liable to step on something if he wasn't careful.

Wheeljack led Fireflight carefully through the Bot's main hangar to his surface lab. He wasn't about to try and get Fireflight to his subterranean quarters, knowing just how claustrophobic his Sparklings were. He could tell Fireflight was lost in his own thoughts because of how easy it became to steer him with the slightest tug, so Wheeljack was extra careful leading him. Once at his lab, he led Fireflight in and over to a scanning table. "Here ya go, Flight. Have a seat here n I'll start the scans for ya, make sure you're okay." he urged, giving Fireflight's hand a reassuring squeeze.

Fireflight's mind came back to the present when Wheeljack gave his hand a slight squeeze, and told him to take a seat. Taking a seat, he watched his dad, a million and one questions still racing through his head, though not all of them related to the recently-occurred event. "What's it like here? Is it fun? Who built the planes and made the English language? What are they like? Are they nice? Do some of them live here?"

Wheeljack laughed lightly at the sudden string of questions from his son then, knowing they were inevitable. "It's beautiful here, I think you n your brothers will like it. There's so much to see and learn about. Humans are the ones who built everything, this base, the cities, the satellites in orbit, the planes, all of it, and it's their language we speak now. They're quite an inventive and industrious race, and many are very friendly. There's some on base here with us, though they're mostly at the Southern end of base." He lowered his head and sighed a bit then, setting his hand on Fireflight's shoulder. "But, there are some humans who don't want us here. The war, the Decepticons, this planet has suffered for it, and so have the humans. We've been trying to show them that not all our kind are like that, trying desperately to protect them, protect this world." He looked at Fireflight then, he was so innocent, so inquisitive, so pure of Spark, they all were and Wheeljack knew it. He had to protect them, somehow. "Be careful who you make friends with, who you love. We can't reveal ourselves to just anyone, and if a human hates our kind but loves our holoform, the pain of being forced apart..." he sighed and shook his head, lowering his gaze again. "You don't want that pain, believe me..." he said softly, the tone in his voice speaking of personal and very painful experience he seemed to deeply regret and didn't want to talk about.
