December 15th, Downtown Washington DC
"Hey Leslie! You've got about ten minutes left on your shift!" "Oh yeah, Thanks! I'll wrap up my few tables left!" Newt replied to the manager at Olive Garden. It was a fairly busy evening, but luckily she only had two tables that remained in her section of the restaurant. Once she took the receipts and their money, and returned with their change as well as their mints, Newt was heading to the back room to get changed into her regular clothes. She took off her uniform and replaced it with a very comfortable tan sweater and skirt combo with black leggings and a pair of black snow boots. She threw on a warm teal colored scarf and then a comfy dark gray formal jacket. After she signed out, Newt was on her way to her GT40 parked in the back of Olive Garden, she made a phone call to a local poetry and singing restaurant and made sure that she still had a reservation, and upon that being verified, she made her way towards downtown.
Newt had heard of the restaurant through a co-worker, who often went on dates there with her boyfriend, and offered the idea of Newt singing there because normally the listeners gave very good tips. Though she was typically shy about singing in front of a lot of people, she decided it wouldn't be a bad idea, so she had rehearsed a certain song for a few days after making a reservation for a singing time, and she was good to go. Newt drove carefully through the streets of Washington D.C., being careful to watch for people crossing the roads and of course checking for the street sign she needed to turn on. Which she hit after a good twenty minutes of driving straight downtown.
It didn't take long for Newt to spot the parking lot, and then she was on her way inside to the restaurant. She checked with the waitress at the entrance of the restaurant, and then once she was directed on where to go, went to the backstage of the small business which had an unusually large crowd tonight. Backstage, Newt listened to the poetry writers and singers who took the stage before her, and she would be lying if she said her nerves weren't getting to her. The time would come in a few more turns for her to sing her song and to hopefully just have a good time, and spend a free evening of no college work doing something that she enjoyed.

Come to Washington DC was a risky thing, especially when it was the location very close to the Autobot base, but Bloodshock really didn't give a crap. He had been working some long shifts, pushing himself over his limits in training, so right now a little trip wouldn't hurt to take now. Even Megatron had seemed busy so he was taking the chance to come and enjoy the city life for now instead of a quiet scene, even though he preferred it over anything else. So far however it didn't seem quite that bad as he cruised along, ignoring some stairs at his alternate form that wasn't common to the continent.
Of course, only the most well known people or this fairly rich would ever have a chance to have a car like his form. Shrugging inwardly he didn't worry about it and continued to cruise for a while until a local restaurant captured his attention. It was one meant for poetry and singing, just something subtle in his opinion and something worth seeing. He always had an interest in the organic planet, even for the lyrical music and sayings of what these humans came up with, this would be no different. So he decided to turn into the parking lot, settling down in the spot and using his holo-form so he could interact if needed and made his way inside.
He had to pay at the door and make a order to have a seat but after a little bit he finally found his place to sit down and have a good view of the stage. Already they had started and Bloodshock, Blake in his holo-form, relaxed while he listened. Some of these people were rather good, though some he thought could use a little more practice.

After several different singers and poets had gone through on stage and performed their different works, and received great praises from the audiences, it was finally Newt's turn in the spotlight. She took a moment to gather her courage, and to calm herself while the announcer introduced her. "Our next singer to perform is someone new here, so please give a warm welcome to Miss Leslie Weyland." Leslie took a moment and walked on stage, smiling as her curly blonde hair literally shined in the spotlight. "Hello everyone, this is my first time ever performing on stage so I hope you all enjoy it. I will be singing a non-original song called "Angel of Darkness."[/url] She took a moment, waiting for the small band behind her to strike the right chords and begin the melody behind the song, and then she began to sing. Striking the first few notes at a perfect pitch. "Angel of Darkness, Angel of Darkness. The world is in your hand. But I will fight until the end. Angel of Darkness, Angel of Darkness. Don't Follow Your Command But I Will Fight, and I Will Stand."Speaking the next short set of lyrics. "When Darkness Falls Pain Is All, the Angel Of Darkness. Will Leave Behind. But I Will, Fight!." And resuming the singing again after. "The Love Is Lost, beauty And light, have vanished from garden of delight. The dreams are gone, Midnight Has Come, the darkness is our new kingdom;Yeah, Yeah. Angel Of Darkness Angel Of Darkness The World Is In Your Hand But I Will Fight Until The End Angel Of Darkness Angel Of Darkness Don't Follow Your Command But I Will Fight And I Will Stand."She allowed just a moment to let the band take their momentary musical solo, allowing herself to catch her breathe and not even paying attention to the crowd. Only focusing on the lyrics, and making them believable to everyone in the crowd, hitting every note to a T. "Hunt Goes On Deep in the night. Time to pray, down on your knees. You can't hide from the Eternal Light. Until my last breath I Will Fight, I Will Fight, I Will Fight, I Will Fight, I Will Fight!" I realize the stars they die, darkness has fallen in Paradise. But we'll be strong and we will fight, against the creatures of the night! Angel Of Darkness Angel Of Darkness The world is in your hand, But I will fight until the end. Angel Of Darkness Angel Of Darkness Don't follow your command, But I will fight and I will stand!"[/i] After the song was finished and the band wrapped up with a beautiful piano fade out, Leslie looked out into the crowd and lightly bowed her head, wondering just what the whole restaurant had thought about her performance and she soon found out that they overwhelmingly approved of her. Many of the people stood up out of their chairs in applause and shouted her congratulations. Leslie simply smiled with pride and bowed her head again, "Thank you." she said politely before she took her lead off of the stage and went back behind the stage to relax for a minute, many different performers had already had their family and friends go behind stage to congratulate them, and of course naturally Newt congratulated the other singers and poets on their great job, and after awhile simply went over to a chair and sighed with relief, glad that she was able to do such a great job.

Bloodshock perked a bit as the next singer came out, listening a bit as she spoke the song of her choice and just listened. Her pitch was perfect, and her voice seemed to match the song perfectly which made him surprised, not all local performers could hit a song's pitch perfectly or close to it without resulting to their own version and in thought she did quite well. The audience seemed to approve as well as they cheered and clapped, which he clapped a bit but remained composed and thought Leslie was definitely one of the best singers there that night.
Though Bloodshock observed how several friends and families congratulated their loved ones and one of them however didn't seem to have the same attention. The Weyland girl was off sitting in a chair, seeming to try and catch a time to relax before she either performed again or did something else. A little greeting wouldn't hurt, he thought as he stood and walked over,"You sing pretty well Ms.Weyland and not every day you hear someone hit the notes and pitch right."He said offering a kind smile.

Newt sighed as she listened to the other singers get congratulated by their family and friends and deep down, she was saddened. It brought back the memories of her parents' deaths, and made her think that now she was all alone, save for the few friends she had at work, hardly any in college. She closed her eyes and leaned forward, placing her head in her hand for a minute and composing herself before she suddenly got a compliment from someone. She lifted up her head to see a very handsome boy standing in front of her, and she knew there was a light pink flush to her cheeks upon her hearing him call her Ms. Weyland. "Oh, well thank you. I've been practicing ever since I was little. And please, just call me Newt, its my nickname from grade school that's kinda stuck." She said with a light shrug. She then casually waved her arm at a chair close to her for him to sit down in, trying to be polite to him since he had just complimented her singing. "So, who do I thank for the kind compliment?" She asked curiously.

Bloodshock waited patiently as Newt composed herself before she realized he was there, nodding as he took the seat she indicated and sat down near her."Well practice makes perfect Newt, which in this case it seemed to work in your favor. And my name is Blake, it's nice to meet you." He said kindly, though his voice was rather calm, noticing the pink flush to her face wondering if it was from the compliment or from his looks. Sometimes when he interacted with the humans several girls tended to stare or watch him with looks of interest. Though he ignored them save for some he saw as friends or the one he loved currently.

Newt smiled sheepishly, she honestly hadn't ever thought that she was really all that good at singing, but if she had gotten that kind of a reaction from a crowd, as well as Blake telling her she was almost perfect, she had to be good! "Well, thank you again. It's also very nice to meet you Blake." She replied with a smile and then looked around as the next singer took the stage, she decided to ignore the performance and visit more with one of her "fans." "So, Blake, do you come to this place very often?

Bloodshock smiled a bit as she seemed to brighten up from earlier which to him seemed a good sign, her mood was a bit better where as she had seemed saddened by something but he didn't dare pry. He knew where to trek when talking to a new person or bot,"Actually no I'm only passing through but got curious about it so decided to stop by see what it was. Got to say quite an impressive place, even for something small but none the less very welcoming for change." He said.
He glanced briefly to the stage but then looked back to Newt since it would be very rude to listen to the performance more then talk to her. He made the effort to interact here so he might as well make use of the time,"What about you? Is this your very first performance? You seemed a little nervous before you started."He asked curiously.

Newt nodded her head as Bloodshock told her how he had just been passing through the area and found the restaurant and was curious. "It was similar for me, I was on my way home from work one day and a friend of mine told me to stop by here and check out the restaurant because it had really good food and had the stage for singers and poets. She knew that I enjoyed singing and figured it would be a chance for me to "strut my stuff" as she said." She replied with a giggle towards the end, it was rather awkward saying that kind of a comment to a guy, but oh well, this was just a casual conversation.
"Eh, yeah, this is my first time singing in front of a crowd. I used to sing lullaby's to my dad when I was a kid and I used to sing along with him as he played guitar, and participated in my high school choir, but I never sang on stage in front of a crowd like that before. Nerve-racking, but also exciting, I'm glad that the audience liked my song choice, I honestly couldn't decide between one song or the other, each minute it was a different song until I finally decided on that one."

"Well you certainly did that today Newt, and for your first time in front of a crowd you did well, as I said before." Bloodshock said with a nod, listening to how she use to practice and wondered what did happen to her family. But again it was her business and not his, so he wasn't about to pry on her private life. "Good song choice I will say, even though I don't listen to much music I do listen to it occasionally." he said as he relaxed against the back of the seat and rubbed his chin a bit.
If anything he made sure his holo-form lacked his scarred face, one that was heavily scarred at that from the years of war. And much to his job. "For the most part it's good to hear local music and new singers and seeing fresh faces once in a while." Bloodshock said in a casual tone, liking how for once the conversation was nothing serious and just a regular conversation.

Newt smiled, "And I thank you again for the compliment. I'm sure glad that song went over well here, because I know very well that there are probably people in somebody's life that could easily be considered a "angel of darkness," and that song probably hit a lot of people to the heart, I'm glad I picked it over my other one." She then turned her head towards the stage to hear the normal applause of the crowd to the singer that had taken the stage, and after a minute of transition a poet went out onto the stage next, with an artist. The artist was to paint the poet as they saw them while reciting their poem.
Looking back to Blake, she nodded in agreement with his statement. "Agreed. It is nice to see a new singer or song writer enter the world, listening to their music and trying to understand where they are coming from in their music. It's very nice to come to a place like this and meet new friends. Which is part of the reason why I came here, my co-workers tell me I need to be around people more often and not just my studies." She joked.

"It certainly did."Bloodshock said softly, his look almost distant as in a way he felt like one of those few who are an 'angel of darkness' for what he had done in the past. He wasn't exactly proud of the things he had done, for the lives he had taken and for those he had killed just to get a bounty or upon orders. He had long since developed his own code and morals, knowing when it was needed to do his job at the right times and when not to. The last thing he wanted to do was cause more pain.
"I can't exactly say I'm an innocent soul myself. Guess I could count myself as an angel of darkness in a way."Bloodshock sighed and looked towards the stage as he recalled all those times.

Newt listened as Bloodshock made a comment about what she had said about her song choice, and this made her regret saying what she did. She could tell there was a look of regret and sadness in his eyes as Bloodshock looked towards the stage. She frowned slightly, hoping she hadn't just opened up wounds that he was attempting to heal. She didn't quite know how, but she somehow knew that Bloodshock wasn't a bad person, even if he had done bad things in his past. She wasn't going to dare ask him what happened in his past, instead she offered a sincere smile and gently tapped his knee. "Remember Blake, it's not about where you come from, its where your going. So what if you've had a bad past, that doesn't mean that you can't change the future. Everyone can change their future." She had hoped that offered a little bit of comfort to help him, and decided it was alright to add in her own little input. "I haven't had a perfect life up until now either, but I've put my past behind me and I've learned to focus on my future and only recall the past when needed."

"It isn't so easy to forget a past that you live with everyday Newt, your life might have been a lot better then mine was."Bloodshock murmured,"I can't exactly tell you what I've done and the things I so deeply regret that I wish I could take it back."He said knowing these thoughts normally didn't help his mood. Sighing he shook his head,"Honestly I should probably be going,I didn't mean to stay long."He said not wanting to bring up the pasts for either of them so he nodded a good bye to her as he stood and made his way through the crowd and stepped outside.
Giving a quick glance around he headed to his alternate form, wincing as he remembered the times once more. It made his spark heavy with regret and grief, knowing he had done some wrong things and the song reminded him so much of those who did keep fighting despite similar occurrences.

Newt frowned as it seemed that the scars that were hidden behind Blake's calm face were too much for him to simply forget. She knew just how tough it was to live a whole life with bad memories, but she just didn't know how bad it was for Blake. She began to say something when he suddenly stood up and said that he had originally planned on not staying for long, nodded a goodbye and then left. She held up a hand and called out to him to wait, but he either didn't hear or didn't listen to her. She stood up and made her way outside as fast as she possibly could, looking for where he had gone off to. She then noticed him heading to his car and she instantly called out to him. "Blake! Wait!" She called to him and she jogged over to him as fast as she possibly could, she honestly didn't quite understand why she had decided to chase him out in the parking lot, but something in her gut told her she needed to follow him. "I understand the pain that you've gone through Blake. I can see it in your eyes, you've seen many tragedies in your lifetime, haven't you?"
