"So you assume, Ironhide, but assumptions are dangerous due to normally being wrong." Wavelength said, about to reply to Wheeljack when Soundwave signaled him, which caused him to pause and, instead of just waiting and watching, he began to run right towards the gate <"I'll intercept and cloak you Dad."> Wavelength said, scanning the upcoming ground for any familiar light disturbances and, when he found the ones matching Soundwave's other alt mode, he bent the light around Soundwave so no one would see him coming up either. As he ran, he tripped, falling to the ground for a moment though he did avoid a faceplant by catching himself on his hands and pushing himself back up to continue on an intercept course, just waiting to see Alex.

Ironhide vented a sigh and shook his head. "My experience, it's least mostly true." he retorted, then scowled when Wavelength suddenly took off towards the gate. "Hay! Where ya goin'?" he called out and started after him, flinching when Wavelength tripped, then got up and kept going. Still he followed, wondering why the young bot was running to the base gate without a word. Was it something Ironhide said?

Hearing the running steps behind him, Wheeljack turned around to see what was going on. To his surprise, Wavelength seemed to be following him. "Hey, I said I'd be right back." he called with a chuckle, though his demeanor shifted to concern when Wavelength tripped and went down, then got up and kept running. It was then he realized Wavelength was headed for the gate, not him, with Ironhide in hot pursuit. "Ironhide, what's going on?" he called, moving to intercept them.
"Slag if I know." the heavy black mech answered and kept running.

<"Acknowledged."> came Soundwave's single word reply and kept driving towards the base. Once he got within sight of the gate, he stopped, watching for Wavelength and the telltale shimmer of his son bending the light around him before he moved forward again, heading straight towards the gate. He stopped again, this time almost directly across from the gate, and opened his passenger door to let Alex out, then slowly backed away from her and watched quietly, knowing she would be safe now, and once she was inside the gate, he moved well out of sight before he stopped again in a sheltered area to rescan to his Cybertronian form so he could return to his customary place in orbit.

Alex remain quietly seated within Soundwave's alt mode, waiting to see what exactly was awaiting her. She hadn't wanted to ask, partially because she didn't want her inquiry to seem like a sign of mistrust towards Soundwave. So, for now, she settled on just wondering, though when Sounwave came to a stop she looked up, curiously. She saw the gate ahead in the distance and a sort of eerie sense of familiarity came over her. She recognized this place somehow. It was as if she'd seen it in a dream or... No, it was a distant memory. As she stared she could see others there, an image in her mind overlaying the current. See couldn't make out the faces, exactly, perhaps that much had been lost to time for now, but she recognized that these were people she knew, people she had enjoyed spending time with. That was when it occurred to her, if she recognized this place, if she had spent time with people here, perhaps this was home, perhaps Soundwave had returned her to the Autobot base.
A sudden shimmer of light snapped her mind out of the scene from the past and her eyes widened with recognition. "Wavelength..." She sat up a bit as they began moving again and spotted her dear friend, whom she considered more family, in the distance. Once Soundwave had stopped and opened the passenger door she climbed out hastily and ran forward to meet Wavelength, relieved at the fact that she was able to see him again.

Wavelength made sure Soundwave was well cloaked before any of the Autobots could see him and then, upon seeing Alex exit Soundwave's secondary alt mode, Wavelength ran a bit faster, stopping a few yards from where Alex was and dropping to a quick crouching pose, a hand out for the girl so she'd be able to step right up into it <"Thank you Dad. Maybe soon all of the family can be here."> Wavelength sent to Soundwave, though he didn't look up, not wanting to give away his adoptive father's location more than he had to. "Wheeljack, Ironhide, come and meet her! Come meet my youngest sis!" Wavelength called back to the two Autobots.

Wheeljack was closest and reached Wavelength just before Ironhide did. Looking at the girl as Wavelength picked her up, at first he didn't recognize her. But Wheeljack, being the inventor that he was had worked with Perceptor on many occasions and as such, he had felt this energy signature before, only now it was stronger. His optics widened in surprise. "Alex?" he blurted out without even thinking about it. But would she even recognize the oft cheerful engineer after ten years absence from the Autobots?

Ironhide slowed as he neared Wavelength and Wheeljack, wondering what the young mech was talking about. But when he heard the tinkerbot blurt out her name, his confusion turned to shock and he stopped cold. "By the sacred Spark of Primus... Alex?" he breathed barely above a whisper, an oath that was almost never heard from the burly mech. It had been ten years since the Autobots had seen Alex. She had vanished without a trace not long after Perceptor had left for Cybertron and the Autobots had been unable to find her in all that time. With a tentative hand he slowly reached out to the young Techno Organic, wondering if she even remembered any of the Autobots.

<"Affirmative."> came Soundwave's single word reply as he retreated quietly away. He did watch from afar as Alex was reunited with Wavelength and two of the Autobots. He knew it was only a matter of time before word spread to her Alpha of her arrival to the base. All Soundwave could do was watch, his Spark beginning to ache for the family he had wished for but believed he could never have, outside of his Symbiotes and adopted son anyway. Not even his secretly forced spawned daughter hidden well away from both sides of the war could ease the pervasive agony in his Spark.

Alex hastily climbed up into Wavelength's hand, eager to see him and talk to him again. "Wavelength! I was worried I'd never get to see you again! Everything happened so fast and I wasn't sure why it was happening but I knew I had to take the opportunity to escape, I knew you would've wanted me to." She then sighed a bit as she began to relax, being with Wavelength again was definitely comforting with all the uncertainty she'd just gone through. "I hope Knockout sees the note I left him, I don't want him to worry too much that I just disappeared like that..."
It took her a moment to realize that he had called to others, having been caught up in her excitement. She looked up at the other two mechs, an expression of awe and confusion coming over her face. She was quiet for a moment before she spoke softly. "I know you... I'm sure I do, but..." She sighed and shook her head. "I'm sorry, it's just so hard to remember..." Indeed, she did recognize them, but the memory was hazy. Anything she could recall about them was vague, she couldn't even recall which name belonged to which mech. She seemed to recall the white and blue mech being cheerful and positive more often than not, and she got the impression that she had spent quite a lot of time with him before she had been taken, and something in the back of her mind told her that the black mech was a bit gruff and could be intimidating at times, but deep down he was truly caring and had a soft side.
